Speed Ring for Canon and Nikon Shoe-Mount Flashes is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Nothing really to say but this thing does the job!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is what it is... I wanted a way to use my speed lights with the same soft boxes that I use with my studio lights while being able to trigger them optically with CLS. This was one of the only products that came up and looked like it would work. It works. It is a little sketchy and difficult to attach it to an umbrella bracket that is a non manfrotto one. However, the light sit right where it should and I am able to trigger it optically (unlike the Apollo box). No light spill outside of the box and the light is nice coming out. The Speed Ring is a bit hard to get securely screwed tight so that it doesn't start swiveling the whole soft box if I pick the stand up. I might have to get a manfrotto umbrella bracket to make the mounting easier. But the quality of this product in regards to build is good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job. Almost. Does the job of a speed ring. Only problem is the mount to attach the flash is non adjustable and at an angle where a receiver that sits under the flash can't be used unless mounting at an angle or backwards. But if just mounting the flash direct and dangling your receiver to the side it'll work fine. Other than that the ring itself is light and solid and like I said does it's job of holding a softbox.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for a Strip lightbank 14X56 I bought 2 of this speedring to use it with a Super Pro Plus Strip Softbox 14X56, and a Super Pro Plus Medium 36X48 in the beginning works OK, but after 5 months of use, the speed ring mounted in the Strip (14X56) fracture right in the middle, Chimera told me that on the Strip Lightbank I must use the adjustable Versi Bracket speedring 2800OP. the one mounted on 36X48 works perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh This works fine, but you have to baby it. It's hard plastic so parts will break. Mine broke at the juncture between the square bracket and the arm. It also doesn't swivel your softbox, so if you want to quickly change from vertical to horizontal, you have to completely take apart the softbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use, perfect for speedlights I have another softbox system for my Nikon speedlights, but the flash sits entirely inside the softbox. I prefer this Chimera setup because the IR and photo sensor stays outside the softbox and easily communicates with my SU-800 IR transmitter or other on-camera master strobe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice Chimera product Works as promised... only two things I would change and/or add to this product. A tilt mechanism for the light stand... and the flash sits a bit high of center in the ring... both VERY minor, but overall great product.
