Crucial MX500 Internal SSD Reviews
Nicely Priced Quality SSDs
Got these as a caching layer for my QNap NAS, all are performing at expected levels, health check was (as expected) green when I started them up. Very reasonable price for a 1TB SSD, works great, great reveiws, can't ask for more I don't think.
Cheap and Fast
I was concerned that it may slow down with large transfers, but I've been moving large media files around all morning and it is going like a Boeing. Installation in external hard drive enclosure was a breeze, just needed to be initialized for MacOS.
Faster than a Speeding Bullet
I bought 2 of these SSD to add to the other 2 units i already have for use as external storage for my video projects. I am amazed how fast they are compared to my original spinning hard drives storage method. I have been using Crucial SSDs in my computers for a couple of years without any complaints. It is only because of the recent drop in prices has it been practical to replace my Hard drive storage method with the Crucial SSD's... talk about a happy camper, I am one!
Solid SSD
While the MX500 is not an exciting drive from any point of view, it's just a great value drive in cases where the price-to-performance ratio is important, such as replacing the storage in old machines. Hard to argue with how Crucial has placed these drives in the market, especially since they're generally quite reliable.
Compact, super fast, easy to install
Cloning this 4TB beast was a bit painful, mainly because I had 4 disk partitions already on my old HDD and tough to go from MBR to GPT with that setup. In the end, I just saved my Windows license, Office license keys and did a fresh install of Windows 10. Went very smooth, needed to update audio drivers to overcome this new crackling, whining sound that became worse after the SSD install. Laptop reboot and disk access is now lightning fast even with my 5 years old laptop. All in all, its a keeper!
Good value, performance for price
I am favorably impressed by the increased performance compared to two previous cheaper no-name brand SSDs of mine. This was a positive upgrade. Crucial's free Storage Executive supports optional Overprovisioning, something I want. It is both easy to use and provides considerable relevant SSD use information. I found that the overall performance for the price made this a very worthwhile purchase for me.
Great internal SSD
Easy setup, fast read/write and great price!
