As far as I can tell that there's no automated computer backup. It backs up my phone photos but I'd like for it to backup my computer files that I designate automatically.

Expensive alternative. Not worth the money.

Get either a real NAS, a real cloud storage, or just a backup hard drive. This is definitely not worth the money. I've given it a year, now I've finally given up. I have taken the device to my college so we could test it after all of the comments from WD, and definitely in the device. Its just hard because I'm a financially strapped college student and I wasted my money and time instead of using the school's free cloud services.

I have had a My Cloud for +5 years and it’s still running ok I purchased a MyCloud Home in early December I have yet to get an Acronis backup to configure on the MyCloud Home I get a message “Access is Denied” Acronis support couldn’t help WD support couldn’t help My original MyCloud is still working fine.

Not configurable.

Can’t comment about the drive and software as I did not use. Thought I was purchasing an External Network Storage device to configure and share the drive storage. When searching for a NAS, the “WD – My Cloud EX2” and “WD – Cloud Home” were listed in the same area. I did not realize the “WD – Cloud Home” version was not configurable. So, I have boxed it up, hoping that I can return this product and purchase the EX2 model.

I have two WD My Book Live, they need to be connected to ethernet port of the router and then via web interface you can create users and shares and define which user has full, read-only or no access to any created share - is it possible to do the same with WD My Cloud Home? I looked at the user manual and there is only some vague explanations of option to create users, no interface screenshots, etc.

According to the link below, you can use a NAS enclosure with Lightroom CC 1.3 (April 2018+). However, a wired 7200 rpm HDD will be ideal, when working with large RAW files in Adobe. https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-cc/using/preferences.html
