  • Fission Structural Effects Plug-In (Download)

Eventide Fission uses the company's proprietary Structural Effects technology to split a sound into its transient and tonal parts, independently manipulate them, and recombine them with minimal glitches, noise, or other artifacts. It provides engineers, producers, and musicians with a wide range of creative possibilities for sound design, drum tuning, vocal modification, audio restoration, or loop-mangling applications, from the subtle to the extreme.

Fission offers four Structural Split controls that enable you to fine-tune the transient/tonal split. The contols let you choose the source type, select the transition region where audio splits, smooth the transitions to reduce unwanted artifacts, and adjust how quickly audio is allowed to transition (in time and frequency) from transient to tonal. The waveform viewer displays the resulting post-structural-split waveforms with the transient audio in the top blue viewer and the tonal audio in the bottom green viewer.

Rather than applying effects to the entire signal, Fission allows you to separately process the transients with six custom Eventide effects, and process the tonal parts with seven custom Eventide effects. You can, for example, treat the transients with compression and delay, while adding a spacious reverb to just the tonal part.

The plug-in lets you easily save/recall your presets, and includes a library of factory presets created by renowned artists and engineers such as Richard Devine, Chris Carter, Suzanne Ciani, Joe Chiccarelli, John Agnello, Stewart Lerman, Steve Rosenthal, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and more.

    Applications
    • Tune the tonal "ring out" of a snare without changing the pitch of the strike
    • Sound design—remove transients from pianos or pick attack from guitars, to create bowed sounds
    • Modify vocals—emphasize or reduce sibilance, add or remove resonance, or turn robust vocals into whispers
    • Morph and transform your loops using independent Tonal and Transient delays
    • Radically reshape a sound by soloing the Tonal and Transient channels
    • Make subtle changes to the timbre of an instrument by adding short delays to either advance or retard the transients relative to the tonal component
    • Audio restoration—beef up the transients from old instrumental recordings to improve presence in a mix without squashing the life out of the tonal material
    • Extreme effects (delay, reverb, tremolo, and more) can be independently applied to the tonal and transient audio streams, enabling the creation of completely new sounds
    Transient Processing Effects
    • Transient delay—standard delay echo effect with Tempo Sync capability and low-/high-cut filtering
    • Transient tap delay—multi-tap delay line with Tempo Sync capability for rhythmic delays, wacky comb-filtering, volume swells, or unique reverberant sounds

    • Tonal chorus—multi–voiced chorus with randomized modulation
    • Tonal reverb—large-space reverb designed with lower echo density (compared to Transient Reverb) and targeted, high modal density
    • Tonal tremolo—standard Tremolo effect driven by an LFO in (optional) combination with the Envelope of the plug-in’s input
    • Tonal EQ—3-band overdrive-able EQ

  • MangledVerb - Distorted Reverb for Mixing and Live Purposes (Download)

Ported directly from the H9 Harmonizer—and available for download—Eventide’s MangledVerb is a plug-in designed to give you dirtier, grittier reverbs. It achieves these grimy tones by blending ambiance controls with distortion, offering you the ability to create anything from warm, sonorous verbs to sonic cacophony.

The path of the plug-in starts with a variable pre-delay control that routes into a stereo reverb section. This, in turn, feeds the distortion and wobble controls, which pile on overdrive and subtle detuning effects respectively.

Though MangledVerb excels in the mix process, it is also suitable for performance use with computerized live setups. One feature that facilitates this usage is the Ribbon control, which allows you to program two different settings and gradually morph between both of them on the fly. If you’d prefer to switch between different settings instantaneously, a programmable HotSwitch control lets you do this. MIDI control is provided for many parameters, including the Ribbon and the tap tempo feature.

180 presets are included with the plug-in, some of them created by artists such as Chris Carter, Vernon Reid, Richard Devine, and others. This software is compatible with Mac and Windows computers, and works in AU, AAX, and VST formats. An iLok account is required to activate MangledVerb, though you need not purchase the dongle.

Adjust the coarse and fine sliders, swap polarity, enter time values, or change distance settings. The time display includes samples and milliseconds. The distance display uses both English units (feet and inches) as well as metric standards. Although DAW time-adjustment increments are measured in samples, this plug-in delivers accuracy to 1/64th of a typical DAW sample.

The Precision Time Align supports AAX Native, Audio Units, and VST plug-in formats and is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows.

  • UltraChannel Channel Strip Plug-In (Download)

The Eventide UltraChannel is a channel strip plug-in, which brings you some of the company's legendary effects in a compact yet intuitive environment, in addition to offering familiar processors such as gain, gate, EQ, and compressor/de-esser. It features a Micro Pitch Shift module with functionality from the H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer, ideal for widening tracks like guitars, synths, and vocals, a stereo delay module with variable feedback paths, built-in analog soft-saturation and transformer emulation, and the O-Pressor, a simplified version of the original Eventide Omnipressor capable of aggressive compression for adding just the right amount of character to your sound.

The UltraChannel features FlexiPath routing, a flexible modular design that enables you to order the processors based on your desired workflow. The gate, compressor, and O-Pressor modules allow for sidechain operation, which lets you trigger the effects from a selected alternate audio source and color the characteristics of your main signal (AAX and Audio Units only).

The plug-in ships with over 200 presets tailored for guitar, bass, kick drum, snare, piano, strings, synths, and vocals.

    FlexiPath Routing
    • Allows drag-and-drop for reordering the signal path of the top-level components (O-Pressor, compressor/de-esser, EQ, gate)
    Gate
    • Allows you to effectively remove signals occurring below the designated threshold
    • Sidechain operation to trigger the gate from a selected alternate audio source (AAX and Audio Units only)
    5-Band Parametric EQ
    • Consists of five parametric filter sections that collectively cover the entire audio spectrum
    • Filter curve individually, as well as a composite equalization curve for the cumulative EQ setting
    • Each band can be turned on and off individually by using its respective ON button
    • Graphical display allows you to edit the frequency, gain, and Q of each of the EQ sections 5 bands
    • Each EQ band is shown graphically by a colored dot whose color corresponds to that in the controls below
    • You can click and drag each dot and change the Frequency and Gain of the associated band
    O-Pressor Compressor
    • Single-knee, compression-only version of Eventide Omnipressor
    • Aggressive compressor which adds character to your sound
    • Sidechain functionality (AAX and Audio Units only)
    Compressor / De-Esser
    • Alter the dynamics of your input signal
    • Sidechain operation (AAX and Audio Units only)
    • De-Ess control removes unwanted sibilance
    • Saturation button to activate soft saturation at the compressor’s output
    Micro Pitch Shift
    • Micro Pitch functionality from the H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer, to thicken or increase the stereo spread of any instrument or vocal
    Stereo Delays
    • Module is comprised of a pair of delays that can be set either manually or to run in sync with the tempo of your session
    • Each delay offers individual level, feedback, and pan control
    • Stereo delays are after the main modules, in parallel with the Micro Pitch Shift, and before the output module
    Transformer Emulation
    • The output module contains a model of an analog transformer which can be driven into classic transformer core saturation
    • Adds harmonics to low frequency material while remaining relatively transparent to the rest of signal
    • Brings life to otherwise dull mixes and helps glue disparate sound sources together
    Over 200 Presets
    • Includes a wide range of factory presets, many created by Eventide artists
    • Presets tailored for guitar, bass, kick drum, snare, piano, strings, synths, and vocals
