If I use the USB Type A adapter, what would be the write speed?
Asked by: David
I'm sure computer variables come into play, but using my laptop's USB 3.1 port I copied a 5 GB file to the drive and it averaged 458 MB/sec. and took about 8.5 sec. Copying a 58 GB file averaged 335 MB/sec. and took 3:15. Strangely in both cases, when copying the files a second time the speed increased slightly and the time decreased. The 5 GB file took 6.5 sec and the 58 GB file took 2:30. It seems the initial copy takes longer, go figure.

can be ued as SSD capture with the BMD Pocket 4K?
Asked by: Dave
I see no reason it couldn’t, however you still won’t be able to record at the highest ( raw ) bitrate since this SSD like many others just isn’t fast enough. But for 90% of other recording rates it will work just fine.

Anyone used this with BMPCC 6k RAW 3:1?
Asked by: Michael
For BMPCC 6K RAW I would recommend the SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 BH #SAE812TB because it can read/write up to 2000 MB/s which is more suitable for that type of footage.
