Is there an EU power cord version available? One for use in Germany?
Asked by: Ryan
It supports both US and European voltages so all you would need is a standard US to German plug adapter not a voltage convertor. Also, the end which goes into the speaker is the standard computer power cable format so a cable should be easy to find.

Is there an EU option for the power cord? For example, a power cord that will be usable in Germany?
Asked by: Ryan
These speakers come with a standard three-prong connector and a cable like this: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=5280 which should be easy to find in any country (with the appropriate wall plug).

Good to use with AV receivers as Front right/left bookshelf speakers?
Asked by: Nagendra
These JBL studio monitors would sound great as front surround speakers, but they must come out of the pre amp, and given an audio only signal, because they have their own built-in power.

How can I connect these speakers to my tv that has an s/pdif optical connector?
Asked by: Glen
You will need to use a digital to analog converter to take the S/PDIF optical output from the TV and convert it to an analog signal. Connect the S/PDIF output from the TV to an S/PDIF on the converter. Then send the analog output from the converter to the inputs on the monitor controller. Next, connect the left output from the monitor controller to one speaker and the right output from the monitor controller to the second speaker. For the digital to analog converter, you can use a device like the Gefen GTV-DIGAUD-2-AAUD Stereo Digital-to-Analog Audio Converter (B&H# GECDAAA) or FiiO TAISHAN-D03K - S/PDIF Digital to Analog Converter (B&H# FID03K). The monitor controller has a 3.5mm TRS input, so you can use an RCA to 3.5mm TRS cable like the Smart-AVI 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual RCA Male Adapter Cable (B&H# SMAD35MM2RC) and then use the XLR cables to connect each speaker to the monitor controller.

None of my audio output devices have balanced connections - yet the back of the 305P's only have balanced inputs. If I use, let's say an audio cable that has a TRS connector on end (going to the speakers), and an RCA cable on the other end (going to my audio sources), will this work with the 305's?
Asked by: Bernd
It will work. For instance, I use them with my phone headset jack as the source. It may pick up more noise, but that may be an issue only with very long cables and in a professional situation. I never noticed any noise with my setup.

Can the amplifier be bypassed to use as passive speakers?
Asked by: Anonymous
This is an active speaker, with the amplifiers built in, so it would not be used as a passive speaker. JBL LSR708i 8" Master Reference Monitor (Single), BH #JBLSR708I would be a very god quality passive reference monitor to consider.
