    Ring Video Doorbell 2 reviews

1080p Video Doorbell 2 with Night Vision is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from works fine - nice, but... It's nice that this wires in to existing [mechanical] doorbells (not digital ones). No need for wiring at all - that's nice. Wonder how long the battery will last? One wish - when there is motion or a doorbell ring - I wish the image would pop up on my iPhone immediately without my having to click on the app... Either I'm missing something - or this is something they should correct in the next software update.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from B&H was lower than Costco The batter life is fine, no wires to run, so really great for fat more than a door bell. Limit your sensor rang, this thing picks up all movement. It is really great to review what has moved on the property..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple setup, easy to use Put this next to the front door for the obvious reasons. Installation wasn't difficult. I only received the French version of the installation instructions, but still managed to mount it. Setup was easy using the app to get it connected to wifi. The app is straightforward and makes it easy to access the camera from your smartphone. Video quality is decent. The communication feature is nice, but I wouldn't count on it to have a long conversation. It works to communicate a short message to visitors though. The alerts on the phone are very helpful. Battery life has been good so far, but it's a new battery, so time will tell. If you are considering purchasing one, I would recommend and plan on subscribing to the cloud storage plan. It is an additional cost, but the pricing is fair. The cloud storage allows you to keep and access video captures and adds a lot of value to owning the device. My only complaint about the product is that I can't customize the length of time it records when motion is detected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great love it, needs an update to OS Works as shown. They need to update the operating system to allow the main owner to have custom controls over all functions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, simple and easy to install and use. Very simple installation, but you need a good wifi or, perhaps, a chime booster. I did not use a booster and it sits outside my home, across a room and a bathroom +-25ft. I feel this is the limit without a booster in my current setup. It works great as a security camera, storing everything that passes in front of my door in the cloud. It works so, so as a doorbell, since without the chime you need to have a device with the app nearby to hear it and answer it. A couple things that should be improved: -Amazon Alexa connection. Should be able to ring and answer (at least voice) on all echo devices. -Ring should be louder or chime already included, otherwise its just not a good doorbell. -Battery recharge could be faster, took me 10 hours last time. Lasts about 30 days. -Better microphone in unit, since I can hardly understand what people are saying, unless they are very close. Also there is a delay in enabling the audio, the picture comes 2-3s first. Overall its doing its job and I feel confident it will get someone stealing or delivering packages. As a doorbell I am more likely to still go to the door since its easier than looking for a device, answering and waiting for the app, video and voice to load. I feel that chime should be included and not sold separately, as it fixes most of the issues.
