Vuze Vuze+ Overview

Record and stream 2D and 3D spherical video content with the Vuze+ 4K 3D 360 Spherical VR Camera. Featuring eight camera units, each with a 2MP Sony sensor, the Vuze+ can generate and record UHD 4K 30 fps images for each eye in a VR environment, or UHD 4K 60 fps images for monoscopic viewing. H.264 video and JPEG still photos are saved to an installed microSD card (available separately).

Where the Vuze+ separates itself from its predecessor is its ability to stream live. Connect a computer via USB for stitching and live streaming with Vuze LIVE. Video is stitched in real time by your computer for immediate online viewing.

Essential applications included with the Vuze+ help with the capture and processing of your video. The Vuze Camera App is available for iOS and Android, and offers live preview, remote start/stop and photo capture, exposure adjustment, and media management. Vuze VR Studio offers automated and manual stitching, video editing facilities, horizon stabilization, color and exposure adjustments, and output encoding. Five licenses are included with the camera.

The body of the camera itself is IP65 rated for protection against dust and water ingress, and it has a 1/4"-20 mounting thread for securing to a tripod or other grip equipment. Microphones are positioned strategically around the camera body to capture spatial audio to complement the spherical video. When operating out in the field, the internal battery can last for about an hour for untethered shooting.

Vuze Vuze+ Reviews

Not Ready for Prime Time

Although a beautiful looking camera, the VUSE+ was difficult right out of the box, with the instructions for logging into the camera being wrong. They said to use the pwd on the bottom of the camera, but what they really wanted was a default password found on the web. Stitching was awful and the 3D rendering was lackluster in VR. I was seriously disappointed. Going to have to save up for one of the more professional cameras.

Great camera that is easy to use

I have been using this camera over the past month and have been very pleased. It is easy operate and provides me with great videos. I am glad that I have a quality, compact camera that I can take while traveling in Colombia. Above all, the support from the Vuze team has been incredible. Any questions / issues that I have had have been quickly answered. There is also a great community on Facebook that displays their most recent projects and any concerns that they have ( Vuzers - Vuze VR Camera Users). I would highly recommend this camera, especially now that Live Video can be transmitted to whatever audience you are looking for. Will most likely be purchasing several more cameras for an ongoing project I am working on.

Affordable 4K 3D 360 VR camera

I have been making 3D videos, using the GoPro dual system, and 360 videos using Kodak SP360 4K's for a few years, so jumped at the chance to buy a Vuze camera. With 8, fully synchronized, cameras arrayed as four 3D pairs you don't have to deal with the synchronization problems associated with arrays of independent cameras. The video captured by all the cameras has to be "stitched" together to create the final 3D 360 video. The camera comes with stitching software that runs on Windows 10 PC's. A Mac version is also available, but isn't quite as fully developed as the PC version, as of this writing. You can also use general purpose stitching software such as AutoPano Video from Kolar/GoPro, or Mistika VR from SGO. Stitching is where most new users struggle. You can get great results from all of the stitching programs mentioned above, but 3D stitching is tricky and takes some work. This is due to the physics of 3D vision, not a fault of the camera itself. Planning your shots ahead of time, and good editing after stitching help a lot too. The HumanEyes support folks are helpful, and there is a active Facebook community that trades useful tips as well. Stitching software development is advancing rapidly, so this will only get easier. The Vuze+ is an improved version of the Vuze (I own both). The new lenses are noticeably sharper and use more of the image sensor. Bottom line: If you are interested in 3D 360 VR, the Vuze and Vuze+ are affordable cameras that can deliver. You will have to work a bit to get good results, though. If you are NOT interested in 3D, you may want to consider other products.

Great Camera!!

The Vuze+ 4k 360 spherical VR Camera is a great asset, especially if you're out in the wilderness and want to let others experience who can't get out due to this pandemic what you see. This could give others the joy of the outdoors from their couch, especially the elderly or disabled who can no longer do these things. To bring others joy that can no longer go out in public is my goal with this camera. I've started uploading 360 videos to youtube of my hikes and will continue to do so.

Great camera. A bit high tech

Great camera but a bit high tech for novice like myself. Took quite a while to get over the learning curve but getting close. Would have liked to have had more technical questions answered and better tutorials on VR Studio software. Look forward to production quality videos for Safety training in 360 & 3D.

I Can't Break The Thing!

My first reaction to my first test with the camera was, "What the... it really did that?" As a professional in the field, I'm continually blown away by what this thing does. Just a few years ago we were spending thousands of dollars on rigs that were little more than 3D printed cases for GoPros or tens of thousands for multiple DSLR rigs. Today we've got this. It does what those other rigs promised but without the "rig" part. It's completely and totally self contained and can take a beating like no other camera I've used or tested. The improved optics over the original Vuze are impressive and livestreaming is gorgeous.

question

i am disapointed because there is no external microphone port, what are the options to record high quality ambisonic audio?
Asked by: roger p.
Hi Roger,My name is Jimmy with the support team! I'm happy to answer your questions. You are correct there is not an external mic port on the Vuze camera or Vuze Plus. However, the Vuze Plus does record in spatial audio with the existing mics on the camera.Another option is to record ambisonic audio with an external mic and sync this with the video when editing in post production.
