An Active Contrast feature smooths out gradations in high-contrast scenes, and an HDR Movie mode provides a wider dynamic range for more lifelike reproductions. Additional HC-VX1 features include integrated Wi-Fi, a 3" touchscreen LCD, SD/SDHC/SDXC recording, and multiple creative effects modes. The Panasonic HC-VX1 features an integrated 5.1-channel, wind-shielded zooming microphone for optimal audio capture plus a 3.5mm mic/line input.

4K and Full HD 1080p Recording
Captures 4K video up to 30 fps, Full HD video at rates up to 1080p60, and up to 26MP still photos. In-camera audio is recorded using a 5.1-channel, wind-shielded zooming microphone.
24x Optical Zoom and 1/2.5" BSI MOS Sensor
A Leica Dicomar 24x optical zoom lens (25 to 600mm 35mm-equivalent focal length) and a large 1/2.5" BSI MOS sensor provide impressive image capture, even in low light. With Intelligent Zoom, a 32x zoom is offered in 4K and a 48x range in Full HD.
Triple Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) Systems
Three OIS technologies: 5-Axis Hybrid OIS Plus, Ball OIS, and Adaptive OIS work together, providing impressive stability in various shooting situations.
Wireless Multicamera Capture
Record up to three camera angles simultaneously, using one or two smartphones as your additional cameras.
Active Contrast and HDR Movie Modes
The Active Contrast feature smooths out gradations in high-contrast scenes, and an HDR Movie mode provides a wider dynamic range for more lifelike imagery.

What settings are recommended to avoid flickering or trails when shooting Christmas lights video with the Panasonic HC-VX1K 4K camera?

In general, the intensity of flickering can be decreased by using a slower shutter speed. Similarly, the flicker frequency can sometimes be decreased by using a shutter speed which is as close as possible to a known safe shutter speed.
