When maximum stability for a high-load capacity and exceptional stability even at maximum height are require, the RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod, one of a series of tripods from Robus delivers performance to satisfy even the most demanding image-makers.
Robust Construction
  • Regardless of the conditions or terrain in the field Vantage-series tripods boast features that will benefit pros and amateurs alike, both in the studio and on location. RC-5570 extends to over 70 inches high, and will comfortably support up to 55 pounds of gear.
  • Heavyweight rubber sleeves on two legs provide a secure, comfortable and balanced grip under any weather conditions.
  • Designed and built to operate in the harshest of environments, Vantage series tripods stand up to daily use and abuse, providing reliable performance. Made of premium materials, they resist corrosion and grime that would cause other tripods to fail.
Carbon Fiber Legs and Twist Lock Leg Joints
  • At the heart of Robus tripods are the extremely sturdy 10× carbon-fiber tubes that provides a maximum load of 55 pounds, which is enough to support a heavy camera setup with a level of stability that dampens vibrations to reduce camera shake.
  • Large, ergonomic twist lock joints open with a quarter turn to extend to a maximum height of 70.1" or collapse the leg sections quickly.
Aluminum Spider and Interchangeable Top Plates
  • The CNC-machined spider features a lock to loosen the yoke, and a safety pull latch to release the top plate. The anodized spider also features a strap mount and an integrated bubble level for precise leveling.
  • A precision-machined top plate features a smooth anodized finish, a chamfered leading edge for ease of installation, and a 3/8"-16 threaded head mount. It includes a ballast hook to add a stabilizing counterweight in windy conditions, or when working with a top-heavy load.
  • The 75mm bowl is interchangeable with the top plate and mounts into the spider using the same safety pull latch release mechanism, making it possible to change from shooting still to video in just seconds.
All Surface Capable, Multiple Locking Leg Angles
  • Three variable leg angles of 25, 55, and 85° with independent leg spread accommodates uneven terrain, and allows you to shoot at a minimum height of 4".
  • Three different sets of feet are available to accommodate different terrains and surfaces. The standard rubber feet, wide rubber feet, and spikes are all interchangeable via the 3/8"-16 socket at the end of each leg.

The build quality of this tripod is excellent. And lightweight (5#s) for what it can do. The leg sections slide out smoothly and unlock and lock easily. Really can't find a single issue with this tripod.. Highly recommend!

Can't go wrong for under $1000

I bought the Robus RC-8860 to support my 600mm f/4 on a gimbal head. Even though the 17pounds combined weight of camera, lens and gimbal are substantially less than the 77 pound capacity of this set of legs. I wanted the peace of mind only a substantial tripod could provide. So far I am more than impressed with the build and quality. The legs are beefy but light for the size. The large easy to grip leg locks require a little less than 1/4 turn to lock and unlock. The aluminum parts are machined very nicely and are of a very high quality. It comes with a nice set of feet, points and a set of large flat feet. There is a nice solid aluminum base for mounting what ever head you want. There is also a nice large removable hook on the base bottom for hanging your pack or weight for extra stability. it also comes with a 1/2 bowl for a video or leveling head. There is a fairly nice case that will accommodate a 5 inch high head mounted on the tripod. So far it has done a great job of supporting my long lens in a variety of situations. I am impressed enough to order the Robus RTH-1050 ball head. And the best part is that it is hundreds of dollars less that other equivalent tripods. In the end, I am very comfortable trusting it to support $16,000 of equipment.

I have an Outdoorsman tripod & head, but due to my 6'01" height I don't prefer raising the post in the field on uneven terrain. So far I have been very pleased. I put a Wimberley gimbal head on, and it seems like the right combination for my BTX/115 spotting scope. It seems very well made and overall I'm impressed!

This tripod is really amazing for the price. Super sturdy, like a more expensive Gitzo. Quality components and finish. I can't see a reason to go more expensive.

Amazing sturdy, solid tripod. The carbon fiber frame being light and manageable in the field is perfect. My requirements included: carbon, 70 height, no center column.

I bought this to accompany my Robus 5558. These tripods are sure-footed and sturdy with Gitzo/RRS quality at Robus prices and are an excellent support system.

Solid for Those On a Budget

Purhased the 5570 mainly for landscape photography and as a backup for shooting wildlife. It's not a Gitzo but I'm not a professional photographer and am on a budget. I purchased it on sale at $450 after watching reviews on Youtube. I shoot with Nikon and this tripod has worked fine so far with my 200-500mm 5.6 lens using either the Benro GD3WH gearhead or the Wemberley WH-200 gimbal head. I purchased the Robus center column in order to allow proper clearance for the Benro head because the Robus spacer wasn't available at the time. The included case is not the most heavy duty case money can buy but if you treat it with TLC it should last for a good long while. The case has three four zippers. I like the dual zippered cap on the case which allows you to access or stowaway the tripod without using the long side zipper. The second cap zipper extends the length of the case long enough allowing you to keep your tripod head stll mounted to the tripod, which offers some light proection for my Benro gearhead. The fourth zipper is located inside the case and is used on a small pocket to store the tripod accessories. The zippered pocket also has a small vinyl tab that is used as a shield to prevent your tripod from getting scratched from the zipper. I am very happy with this tripod thus far and considering the price I paid, I believe it's money well spent. I will probably purchase a hard case for the tripod sometime down the road.

Do I need to purchase a center column or can I mount my ball head directly to the legs? Thanks.
Asked by: BM
A center column is not needed but the column would make it easier/faster to raise and lower the camera height. This would be the optional center column: https://bhpho.to/3BJzGRQ. The BH-55 head can be attached to both the tripod or the optional center column.

One of the reviewers, Shawn, stated, "Had to order the center column later as I could not rotate my camera to vertical in my BH 55 because it would hit the sides of the tripod." He doesn't say what camera he's using. Has anyone using a Nikon D810 in conjunction with the Robus RC-5570 had this problem?
Asked by: James H
The easiest solution would be to get a dedicated L-Bracket for your D810 and you shouldn't have any issues.
