When maximum stability for a high-load capacity and exceptional stability even at maximum height are require, the RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod, one of a series of tripods from Robus delivers performance to satisfy even the most demanding image-makers.

Robust Construction

  • Regardless of the conditions or terrain in the field Vantage-series tripods boast features that will benefit pros and amateurs alike, both in the studio and on location. RC-5570 extends to over 70 inches high, and will comfortably support up to 55 pounds of gear.
  • Heavyweight rubber sleeves on two legs provide a secure, comfortable and balanced grip under any weather conditions.
  • Designed and built to operate in the harshest of environments, Vantage series tripods stand up to daily use and abuse, providing reliable performance. Made of premium materials, they resist corrosion and grime that would cause other tripods to fail.

Carbon Fiber Legs and Twist Lock Leg Joints

  • At the heart of Robus tripods are the extremely sturdy 10× carbon-fiber tubes that provides a maximum load of 55 pounds, which is enough to support a heavy camera setup with a level of stability that dampens vibrations to reduce camera shake.
  • Large, ergonomic twist lock joints open with a quarter turn to extend to a maximum height of 70.1" or collapse the leg sections quickly.

Aluminum Spider and Interchangeable Top Plates

  • The CNC-machined spider features a lock to loosen the yoke, and a safety pull latch to release the top plate. The anodized spider also features a strap mount and an integrated bubble level for precise leveling.
  • A precision-machined top plate features a smooth anodized finish, a chamfered leading edge for ease of installation, and a 3/8"-16 threaded head mount. It includes a ballast hook to add a stabilizing counterweight in windy conditions, or when working with a top-heavy load.
  • The 75mm bowl is interchangeable with the top plate and mounts into the spider using the same safety pull latch release mechanism, making it possible to change from shooting still to video in just seconds.

All Surface Capable, Multiple Locking Leg Angles

  • Three variable leg angles of 25, 55, and 85° with independent leg spread accommodates uneven terrain, and allows you to shoot at a minimum height of 4".
  • Three different sets of feet are available to accommodate different terrains and surfaces. The standard rubber feet, wide rubber feet, and spikes are all interchangeable via the 3/8"-16 socket at the end of each leg.

sturdy tripod, steady in windy conditions. Relatively light weight. Excellent stability due to having adequate height without the need for a center column. good quality at a good price.

For the money this a great tripod. No it is not a light weight travel/backpacking tripod, but for most of my landscape shots it is a great choice. Very stable.

These sticks are light weight, travel easy, and are sturdy as anything else we own for this price point. However, we almost lost a rubber footing, so be careful to make sure it stays screwed on. Regardless, I will purchase another one of these in the near future, as it's better than pods I've used at higher price points.

Lightweight, yet stable.

The Robus RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 carbon fiber tripod is portable in the field, yet provides a secure base for a camera body and long telephoto lens. It has three legs, each with three adjustable segments. Well made and a joy to use.

Nice steady tripod

I purchased this tripod mainly for studio macro work, and it seems to work very well for that. Build quality is very good, but sometimes the leg adjustments are a bit jerky. I also am not a big fan of the way the plate locks. The nut locks by a plastic key that is hard to access and I'm not sure how long it will last. Also, using a BH-40 ballhead, the camera will hit the plate when the camera is tilted to the vertical position. An L bracket will solve the problem, but it's something to know about. I would also like to see some other way to change the feet using some sort of quick change. Bottom line is it's not a $1400 tripod, but that's not a bad thing for most of us. Especially if you are using it in studio.

Awesome!

This is the first carbon tripod I have ever bought, it might be a little pricey, all I can say is that it's well worth every penny. I don't regret it a bit. It is light, seems rock solid, easy to carry around and set up and lock in place, a far cry from some cheap brand names I have wasted money on in the past. I really don't know why I will ever need another tripod? This should last a lifetime.

Solid, but heavy

I've had this for a few months now. Its a very sturdy tripod, but no doubt its HEAVY! Also the top plate always gets loose...even after synching it down.

I changed from a Bogen Carbon Fiber with a center column to the Robus and I'm very happy with this tripod. Been a photographer for over 30 years and this is by far the best system. Very sturdy and easy to lock the legs. The Bogen had flip-locks and worked well but the twist locks are great. Highly recommended! Mark

Do I need to purchase a center column or can I mount my ball head directly to the legs? Thanks.
Asked by: B
A center column is not needed but the column would make it easier/faster to raise and lower the camera height. This would be the optional center column: https://bhpho.to/3BJzGRQ. The BH-55 head can be attached to both the tripod or the optional center column.

One of the reviewers, Shawn, stated, "Had to order the center column later as I could not rotate my camera to vertical in my BH 55 because it would hit the sides of the tripod." He doesn't say what camera he's using. Has anyone using a Nikon D810 in conjunction with the Robus RC-5570 had this problem?
Asked by: James H
The easiest solution would be to get a dedicated L-Bracket for your D810 and you shouldn't have any issues.
