With my camera fitted with the EasyCover , will it now fit into my Smallrig video cage ?
This EasyCover when on fitted camera will NOT fit into Smallrig Video Cage. The silicone would have to be modified. Check photos in reviews. Top and sides to thick to fit.

How does this help with sand and dust. Are the openings covered or something?
Hi Nancy, it helps against saw and dust because the majority of the body is covered with silicone and the silicone fits smoothly on the body. You are right, in the openings water, dust can reach the camera, the camera case is not waterproof.

Do you know when the one that will allow the battery grip will be released ?
EasyCover does not make covers for cameras that use a battery grip. Regarding their D850 cover their web page states: Unfortunately the camera case is not compatible with a battery grip.

Is there an opening on the bottom of the cover sufficient to allow a standard Manfrotto 200 pl quick release plate to be attached?

will this work with RRS L Bracket?
Works fine w/ RRS standard 850 plate. I have the large L bracket on my other 850 w/ battery grip. Will not fit that because of battery grip. Probably could be used on 850 body w/ L bracket w/out grip if you do a bit of surgery on the bottom. W/out a little surgery, may not fit as tightly. Have to try it and see.
