RODE SB20 Reviews
Great, though not quite long enough...
Great, though just a little too short to do Blumlein configuration using AKG C414
RODE STEREO BAR
Just used it this past Thursday on a choir filming. This thing is outstanding and with the spacing for mics that it provides it is just perfect. It helps you get a perfect balance with mic placement on your choir, band and/or orchestra. This is a must buy!!!
Practical, useable.
I almost didn't buy this because people wrote in reviews that it is plastic and flimsy. I bought it, setup a crosspair of mics and did a film shoot straightaway and it worked without complication. I like that it is lightweight. Everything is solid enough as long as you take care of it. NOTE that it comes with only (1) 5/8 male to 3/8 female adapter - you will need 2 more to put North American style mic clips on this t-bar. This is confusing - but true. I sharpie-d out the rode lettering on both sides for my shoot. I very much like the markings for ORTF etc., I used to bring a protractor and a ruler in the old days haha. If you are on the fence I'd say buy. It works just fine.
Helpful guides
Markings on the bar show proper mic placement, in particular for ORTF that we use to record my choir and acappella quartets.
Good, but no adapters included
Did not include the 5/8" adapters as advertised and noted by another reviewer. Other than that, it's made of strong light weight plastic and allows for the height of the mics to be adjusted in order to accommodate for accurate xy mounting.
works well solid
It paired with my rode M5 compact 1/2 matched pair nicely. Solid build. easy to use
Rode Stereo Bar
We film a lot of choirs here in the Kansas City area. We use this bar to hold the 2 Rode Choir mics that we use. It is awesome and built very well. This is a must buy!
