TC Electronic High-Definition 19 overview

  • 1Description

The TC Electronic Reverb TwentyFour is a reverb processor that delivers pristine, high-definition reverb in a 19" rackmount format. Powered by three reverb engines built on the Reverb 8 algorithm (from the company's System 6000 Reverb unit), it allows engineers to create and manipulate up to 24 channels of simultaneous, uncorrelated reverb, and deliver content for the most extreme surround formats in broadcast, film, and acoustic enhancement applications.

The Reverb TwentyFour is equipped with a MADI interface and flexible audio routing, which allows you to send any 24 of the 64 MADI channels to and from the reverb engines. The unit uses Ethernet-based control compatible with TC ICON network for easy and flexible control over longer distances using the TC ICON hardware (available separately) or a Mac/Windows computer running the included ICON software.

Notable features include downmix compatibility to render down mixes from high channel formats without introducing phasing artifacts or altering mix balance, an envelopment technique that lets you add significant amount of reverb to a signal that already contains spatial information, and Power Correction, which maintains balance between the direct and reverb sounds while making mix changes and experimenting with decay time settings.

The Reverb TwentyFour is designed and engineered in Denmark, and ships with reverb, routing, and scene factory presets based on international standards.

Applications

  • Broadcast: Helps engineers create authentic sound fields
  • Cinema: Gives producers the ability to utilize up to three different reverbs in a single rack unit for maximum flexibility
  • Acoustic Enhancement: Use in stores and restaurants, where it allows customers to experience the background music flowing organically into the room

Controls

  • Intuitive Grid display lets you easily adjust ambience across multiple channels
  • Ethernet-based control compatible with TC ICON network for easy and flexible control over longer distances using the TC ICON Hardware or Mac/Windows computer with the included ICON software

Downmix Compatible

  • External downmix to mono, stereo, 5, 7, 11, 22 channel
  • Render down from high channel formats without introducing phasing artifacts or altering mix balance
  • Compatible with modern high channel count workflows, such as Dolby Atmos

Power Correction

  • Power Correction maintains balance between direct sound and reverb while making mix changes and experimenting with decay time settings
  • Loudness stays the same regardless of decay time
  • Gives you the freedom to experiment with radical decay time settings and do last minute changes while leaving the balance of your mix undisturbed

Verb on Verb

Envelopment technique lets you add significant amount of reverb to a signal that already contains spatial information

Infinite Channels

  • Add one or more units and link them on the same network to get virtually unlimited number of output channels
  • Feed any mono, stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and above signals and process to an infinite number of output channels
  • Deliver in extreme surround formats like Dolby Atmos, Barco Auro or NHK Multi-Channel spanning from 11.1 to 62.2

Seamless Integration

  • Control unit from within your DAW
  • Compatible with AAX Native, AU, VST 2.4, VST 3

Automated Preset Control

Change Reverb presets with your DAW's automation during playback to get more out of the three engines of the reverb
