FotodioX NIKG-SNYE-FUSION-MRKII Overview

Make full use of your range of lenses on your mirrorless camera with this FUSION Smart Mark II Adapter from FotodioX. This smart adapter allows you to use Nikon F-mount lenses on Sony E-mount bodies, and is designed to retain full electronic communication whenever possible.

Fast autofocus can be achieved when using AF-S/AF-I lenses on a camera with phase-detection AF, such as the Sony Alpha a6300, a6500, a7 II, a7 III, a7R II, a7R III, and the a9. Vibration reduction and EXIF data transmission are also maintained on compatible models that offer those features. As for on-camera aperture control, the adapter supports EMD and pull-rod aperture systems including G-type, E-type, and some D-type lenses.

If some or none of those electronic features are desired, this product can always be used with older gear as a simple manual adapter. Infinity focus can be reached regardless of your equipment, and a metal construction with a chrome-plated brass mount makes this product durable. At the bottom, an integrated baseplate with a 1/4"-20 mount allows you to mount the adapter atop a tripod or monopod for easy support of heavier lenses.

  • Nikon F-mount lens to Sony E-mount camera adapter, designed to retain electronic communication between equipment
  • Full autofocus features retained when using AF-S/AF-I lenses on cameras with phase-detection AF
  • Contrast-detection AF is supported, but is not recommended as performance is significantly slower
  • Electronic aperture control possible with EMD (electromagnetic diaphragm) and pull-rod aperture lenses, including G-type, E-type, and some D-type models
  • Vibration reduction maintained on lens models that offer it
  • EXIF data transmission for AF-S/AF-I lenses
  • Designed to allow for infinity focus regardless of lens or camera used
  • Durable all-metal construction with chrome-plated brass mount
  • Built-in baseplate with mount for a 1/4"-20 screw, installs onto tripod or other support gear when using heavier lenses

Working well on my FS5 MkII

I use it to allow me to use my Nikon 70-200 lens on my Sony FS5 MkII and it does what I need. I primarily shoot interviews and b-roll so can't say how well it would work in a run-and-gun environment but for what I've used it for it's been great.

Perfect for my F-Mount Nikon Lens

This is for my F-Mount, Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 that's about 6 years old. Auto-Focusing is pretty good, not perfect, but it definitely gets the job done. I'm using this mostly for posed portraits so my subjects aren't athletes or people moving very quickly. Easy to mount, not too heavy.

auto focus issues

The product is outstanding and I have used is with several high quality Nikon F lens and two Tamron lens for Nikon. Excellent transfer to the camera. My only issue is the auto focus when using the Tamron 200 to 600. Very slow if it works at all. I did all my long reach images of birds in flight in manual focus and that dropped my success ratio considerably. Not sure why, but will continue to research why and see if there is a solution. The shorter Tamron lens for Nikon worked fine. Overall I am happy with the Adapter and will use it a lot. Using the Sony a6400.

ZOOM OUT

Purchased this and i can only use the prime lenses. Attach a zoom it freezes. The 150-600 Tamron works but hunts at times. Still searching for an adapter.

Nikkor AF-S lenses on Sony ax6000

While I am still getting accustomed to the adapter for the use of Nikon AF-S Nikkor DX lenses on my Nikon D7100 on my Sony ax6000, it seems to work more smoothly on some than on others. In a pinch, I can set manually for focus; shutter speed and aperture seem to respond to Sony automatically. Haven't yet tried my fixed 300mm AF-S Nikkor. In that it saves buying a bunch of new lenses, it is worth the price.

Does the job

This seems well built and sturdy. Make sure to turn off image stabilization on the Nikon lens, though. It seems to make the image jump around if it’s not.

Works perfectly!

Seems to work really well with adapting my full frame nikon lens to Sony e mount. I shot a wedding with this setup shortly after getting this adapter and autofocus was spot on. The adapter communicates totally with the camera. I’m sorry I sold some of my other nikon glass before learning about this adapter.

It is far from what it claims to be

I just bought this adapter to use it on my Sony A7s II and my Sony A7r IV and this thing doesn't work properly. I tested Nikon 50mm f/1.4 and Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and focus works like 50% ok only. But every time that I try to use my Nikon 18-300mm f/3.5, this thing doesn't work at all. Struggle too much to find the focus point and still hunting and hunting and never get it. So, I definitely don't recommend this item to anybody. I have to return it to B&H.

Technically yes it will mount to the QX1, however it is going to very unwieldy and will not have the same performance focusing wise as a Sony lens.

It should work with Nikon brand lenses, but not third party lenses due to the latest camera firmware update. Fotodiox engineers are currently working on a fix for it to work with third party lenses.

Qualifying my question and asking once more. Also request that if you have not actually had an experience with this exact question, your answer will not help. Will this adaptor work with NIKON “S” and “G” prime and zoom lenses on a SONY a7rIV? Not interested in any other camera types, just the a7rIV. Thank you
Asked by: Charles
Hi I personally tested this for you. The A7R4 with the fusion adapter worked with every G prime/zoom lens I grabbed. By "S" I don't know if you meant AF-S or S glass. In either case, AF-S lenses worked great and "S" glass is only for the Nikon Z mount so that doesn't work. You'll need a different adapter for Z mount/ "S" glass lenses.

Will this adapter retain autofocus when adapting a Sigma 24-70mm 1:2.8 DG HSM or Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 APO DG HSM to an A7R III?
Asked by: David
The FotodioX FUSION Smart Mark II Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera, B&H # FONGSEFSNMK2, is compatible for use with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens, though it is listed to have slow autofocus performance. Unfortunately, the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG HSM lens is not compatible for use with the FotodioX FUSION Smart Mark II Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera.
