Lensbaby Burnside 35mm f/2.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds
Key Features
  • Micro Four Thirds System
  • Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/16
  • 70mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Dual Diaphragm for Creative Swirly Bokeh
A unique lens characterized by its swirly bokeh, the Burnside 35 from Lensbaby is a 35mm f/2.8 prime for Micro Four Thirds-mount cameras. Featuring two separate diaphragms, an extensive amount of control over selective focus and bokeh quality is possible, with the ability to work with large in-focus areas or smaller in-focus areas surrounded by a distinct out-of-focus swirl. The six elements, four groups optical design also contributes to the unique look, and each of the glass elements have been multi-coated to control flare and ghosting in order to realize high contrast and accurate color rendering. In addition to fully manual exposure control, the lens also requires manual focus operation and has a minimum focusing distance of 6" for working with close-up subjects.

What's the least amount of creative effect that this lens can do? As in if I don't want to see the effect as much sometimes.
Asked by: Zach
To reduce the effect the most in the Lensbaby Burnside 35mm f/2.8 Lens , use the gold slider to add or subtract vignette and bokeh detail. And use a smaller aperture for less bokeh.

Does APS-C crop out the effects? I’m seeing reviews complaining about lack of vignette and I don’t see swirl on APS-C sample images.
Asked by: Baron
You will definitely still see the unique rendering of this lens even if used on an APS-C camera. You may see a bit less of the vignetting, but overall the effect is still there.
