Core SWX Nano D-Tap Reviews

This battery is great, D-Tap and lasts with the EVA1

Love this battery. I've been using it for 3 years and it always lasts a long time and having the D-Tap to power accessories on my EVA1 is great. It's a great alternative to larger V-Mount setups when you are looking to keep things light. I wish Core would make an L series battery just like this one with a D-Tap.

Great company. Great batteries.

So I bought 3 of these in anticipation for my FX6 order. When I realized I had to wait almost a year to get that camera, and that B&H wouldn't accept a return for these batteries, I contacted Core SWX directly and they exchanged them for the Canon version (I bought a C300MKIII instead). Their customer support was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Their batteries have a long life and the addition of DTAP and USB is a solution to Canon's oversight. I only wish the USB could deliver PD power!

No issues whatsoever.

These batteries changed my experience of shooting for good. If you're looking to avoid carrying multiple battery types and chargers and generally reduce bulk on both your camera, and in your kit bags. Look no further.

2 of these where DOA

Both 2 of these. They both couldn't charge and kept giving error messages on battery and charger. Had to replace 1, wasted time on set, the replacement worked. But the 2nd still not working, will have to ship for exchange. Waste of time again. I wish they worked flawlessly from day one. Maybe they stayed too long in the warehouse and went undervolt and messed the charger algorithm. Core swx have to fix these batteries, great idea to add the d-tap on it, but execution is soso on QC.

Solid performer.

Works as advertised, with bright LED level indicators. It's handy to have the USB and D-Tap power right on top. I would feel less nervous if the D-Tap and USB had caps so they wouldn't be at risk for grit from a camera bag getting into the port, but I haven't experienced any problems related to this.

I've had the batteries for a few weeks now and have found them to last quite a while on a single charge (FX6). The ability to output power through a D-tap to an external monitor is also fantastic, as it saves the extra weight and hassle of dealing with additional batteries. (Not that I don't still keep some around, just in case.) The only real negative I've found about these batteries is the length of time it takes them to get to a full charge, but I can't imagine that's any different from other large batteries. When combined with the cost savings over the namebrand Sony batteries, I would say these are an easy purchase for anyone looking to buy new batteries (with additional power output features).

REALLY NICE

If you're looking a large cap battery and keeping your rig as compact as possibly, I'd have to say this is it. Haven't had the opportunity to use it with an external monitor to see how it functions, but overall I am very happy with it. I've left my camera turned on while I prepped for and took my shots over the course of two hours and I had well over 300 minutes remaining on the LCD display. When I get around to getting a V-lock rig, I am going to use this as an in camera backup battery.

Can I use this battery with the blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4K?

It has a D-Tap port you could use to power the Pocket 4K from a D-Tap. However this really would not be an option we recommend for that camera.
