7Artisans 50mm f/1.8 Overview

A flexible optic for Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras, the 50mm f/1.8 Lens from 7artisans is an especially compact portrait-length prime lens. Featuring a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, this lens strikes an ideal balance between portability and speed to make it well-suited for everyday shooting. Portrait-length prime is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 75mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture benefits working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques, and also suits photographing in low-light conditions.
Multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements and reduces flare and ghosting in order to produce greater contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.
Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 1.6'.
Depth of field and distance scales aid pre-focusing and zone focusing techniques.
Rounded 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

7Artisans 50mm f/1.8 Reviews

Great for the price!

Very little aberration, nice circular bokeh, and little blur when shooting at f/1.8. My only con is a declicked aperture, but even then I honestly don't care too much about that. Compared to the TTartisan 50mm f/1.2 MFT for an even higher price, this is the obvious winner to me.

If the 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm f/1.8 Lens for Sony E is not focusing to infinity it is defective. The lens should focus to infinity from the factory. The user does not need to do anything other than turn the focus ring to focus to infinity.

will this work on a Sony A7?
Asked by: Darren
The 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm f/1.8 Lens for Sony E is for Sony cameras with a APS-C size sensor. You could mount it on the Sony a7 and set the camera to crop mode. If you do this you lose the advantage of shooting with a full frame camera and you will get a small file size. So it is not recommended.
