To attach to a camera or a lens, the BlackRapid Classic Retro RS-4 Camera Strap features a durable, brass and zinc-alloy CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. An included BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe creates a connection point using a camera or lens's 1/4"-20 tripod mount. The FR-5 FastenR Breathe has a large, integrated D-ring for easy use with BlackRapid straps that utilize a CR-3 ConnectR.

When multiple cameras or lenses need to be carried, a separately-available BlackRapid CoupleR Strap allows a BlackRapid Classic Retro RS-4 Camera Strap to be joined with a second camera strap, that is also compatible with a CoupleR, to create a functional double-camera harness.

A BlackRapid Camera Safety TetheR is provided to reinforce the Classic Retro RS-4 Camera Strap while in use, as well as a plastic BlackRapid Lockstar Breathe Carabiner Protector, which is compatible with BlackRapid straps that feature a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. By folding over a CR-3 ConnectR, the Lockstar Breathe prevents unintentional user contact with a CR-3 ConnectR that could cause it to accidentally unlock. Additionally, it helps to block the metal surface of a CR-3 ConnectR from scratching a connected camera or lens.

I just received my strap and want to attach it to my Canon 100-400 mm lens, not the 7D II body. Attaching to body puts too much torque on lens mount. Bit I need to attach to the tripod mount because the tapped hole in the lens is not 1/4-20. Are there adapters so that I don’t need to use the tripod mount?
Asked by: Edward
The tap on the lens is a 1/4-20, you can in fact screw this into the bottom of the foot on the Canon 100-400mm lens. If you need to have the strap screwed into the foot and don't want to have to take it off every time you put it onto a tripod, you could use something along the lines of this, KIKLP450V2, where you would screw this plate onto the bottom of the collar on your 100-400, screw the Black Rapids plate into the 1/4-20 on the plate near the back which would leave the front of the plate open to be mounted on a tripod.

question

Can you use the strap with an L Bracket?
Asked by: Vito L
Thanks for your inquiry! Yes, you can definitely use an L Bracket with this strap and all of our other straps. The L Bracket from 3 Legged Thing works really well with our FR-5. Take a look at our YouTube video right around the 2:34 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec94fKbVErI&t=219s

question

I am 5.2 High does this strap fit for me? Or is too long?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the straps are adjustable. Im 6 and the two straps that connect to the pad that hangs on my L shoulder are all the way out which allows the camera to hang at my right hip. There is plenty of room to shorten the straps so that your camera will hang next to your hip & near your (presumably) R hand so you can quickly lift the camera for a quick shot. Theres a hand strap that also comes w/ this that connects to the R strap attachment on the camera and then to the secure coupler that screws into the tripod threads on the bottom of the camera. This protects the camera from falling to the ground in the unlikely event that the threaded ring attached to the coupler should work its way loose from the camera body. The design of this strap is well thought out & if youre hiking you can cinch down the camera w/ sliding stays on the camera strap to minimize, but not eliminate, your camera moving around as you hike/walk. Ive been very pleased with this strap thus far & used it last week on a couple of nature hikes in this SF Bay area & was pleased w/ its function, especially compared to an around the neck strap where your camera is flopping around on your chest.
