Designed to deliver the peak performance required for hunters, birders, shooters, and discerning outdoor enthusiasts, the angled-viewing Atholon Optics Cronus 12-36x50 Spotting Scope combines the power and portability that will make it your constant companion wherever you go to glass.

This scope employs fully multi-coated, extra-low dispersion glass lens elements set in an apochromatic configuration that eliminates spherical and chromatic aberrations. When combined with its dielectric-coated BAK4 prism system, the results are bright and clear tack-sharp, high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity without distortion across the entire field of view. The broad zoom range allows you to take in a wide field of view for general viewing purposes, with the ability to draw subjects in close for more detailed observations, while a dual-speed focusing mechanism makes bringing a buck or bird into sharp view fast and easy.

This version of the Cronus is configured with the eyepiece set at a 45° angle relative to the optical tube to place your head in a comfortable viewing position whether you're standing, sitting, or lying prone. Adding to the usability is a rotating mount collar that allows you to precisely place the eyepiece to limit movement and improve comfort. To withstand the rigors of the trail, range, or blind, Athlon built the chassis out of a lightweight and durable magnesium alloy and wrapped it in a protective rubber armor. The large focusing collar is slip resistant, making it easy to achieve a sharp focus in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves. The optical tube is argon-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if it should accidentally get dropped in a puddle or stream. Designed for maximum portability and ease of use, this Cronus measures under 10" long to make it easy to pack and carry and quick to set up and break down.

Optical Performance
  • Broad 12-36x zoom range is ideal for mid- to long-range use
  • Large 50mm lens is optimized for use in challenging light conditions such as at dawn and dusk, or under heavy cloud cover
  • BAK4 prism glass delivers a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Dielectric prism coatings boost surface reflectivity to greater than 99% for maximum light transmission through the prism, with minimal loss and diffraction
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) lens glass corrects chromatic aberrations to transmit accurate colors without fringing or halos
  • Apochromatic lens configuration eliminates spherical aberrations that cause distortion at the edges of the field of view, as well as further correcting chromatic aberration
  • Broadband anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission and improve contrast and color fidelity across the entire visible spectrum
  • Proprietary XPL exterior lens coatings resist scratches and abrasions while allowing oil, dirt, and sap to be cleaned off without leaving smudges or residue
  • 171-foot field of view at 1000 yards on 12x; 90 feet on 36x
Use and Handling
  • Eyepiece set at 45° to optical tube for easier and more comfortable viewing when sitting, standing, or lying prone; and allows a lower tripod height for improved stability
  • Dual coarse and fine focusing mechanism enables fast yet precise focusing
  • Twist-up rubber eyecup for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Integrated sight on sun shade aids in finding subjects, allowing users to spend more time observing than finding their subject
  • Standard 1/4"-20 mount is compatible with a wide variety of quick-release plates, heads, and photo/video/field tripods
  • Rotating tripod collar allows user to precisely adjust the eyepiece position relative to tripod head
  • Comfortable eye relief at all magnifications allows for more comfortable viewing with reduced eye strain, especially during long-duration glassing sessions
  • 4.1-1.4mm exit pupil
