MSI Aegis TI3 overview

  • 1Description

The Aegis Ti3 Desktop Computer from MSI is a VR-focused system packed with high-end hardware and features aimed at gamers looking to be on the frontier of 4K gaming and multimedia. Powered by a 3.7 GHz Intel Core i7-8700K six-core processor, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, and dual MSI GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards with 11GB of GDDR5X VRAM in SLI, the Aegis Ti3 can handle everything from everyday tasks to gaming at high-to-ultra settings. It also has plenty of video-out ports such as HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI-D for a multi-monitor setup, as well as a front VR-link (HDMI) port for easy access with your VR headset.

For storage, it's equipped with two 256GB PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe solid-state drives configured in RAID 0 and a 3TB 7200 rpm hard drive. Connect to the Internet via 802.11ac Wi-Fi or with Gigabit LAN for a more stable and reliable wired connection. Pair compatible wireless peripherals using Bluetooth 4.2 technology to free up USB ports for more important devices. Other integrated features include multiple USB ports, a SuperMulti DVD drive for writing and reading optical media, RGB case lighting, a carrying handle, a headset holder, water-cooling, and multiple audio jacks. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Pro.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series
Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the Maxwell architecture. When used with a monitor that has G-SYNC hardware installed, the monitor's refresh rate will sync and lock with the graphics card's output frame rate. Establishing this sync removes tearing and stuttering which can result from conventional fixed screen refresh rates. An additional benefit of G-SYNC is reduced lag so gamers will benefit from the improved command response time as well.
Game Boost
Thanks to the unlocked Intel Core K-series processor, you can press the Dragon button on the front of this system for instant overclocking with up to a 15% performance boost.
Super RAID 4
The two SSDs installed are PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 based cards with NVMe technology and configured in RAID 0 for faster speeds of over 3300 MB/s.
Immerse Yourself
The Aegis Ti3 is optimized for VR, featuring a front VR-link (HDMI) port for your headset, as well as software optimization with One Click VR for increased performance when running VR applications.
Gaming Design
Outfitted with customizable Mystic Light RGB lighting, a built-in handle, and a headset holder, the Aegis Ti3 is gamer-friendly. Moreover, its components are easily accessible so you can upgrade or swap out hardware as needed.
Stay Cool
The power supply in the Aegis Ti3 is split from the rest of the components for a dual-compartment cooling design. Additionally, the CPU is liquid cooled, which allows for more aggressive overclocking.
With a combination of software and hardware, Audio Boost 4, Nahimic 2 technology, and ESS Sabre Hi-Fi Audio DAC in the Aegis Ti3 offers an immersive audio experience with clear sound with low distortion.

Windows 10 Pro

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
Windows 10 Pro
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for businesses users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
