Compare with g95 ? I am seeing similar specs, just form factor difference ?
Asked by: Bob
Hi Bob! There is not much difference between the two models, the ones that are will be with regards to the design and also the weight/dimensions of the products. On the G95 there is also unlimited video recording as opposed to GX9's 29 minutes and 59 seconds recording time. In addition, G95 has audio ports of the following specifications: 3.5 mm TRS Stereo Headphone Output and 3.5 mm TRS Stereo Microphone Input. In the end, what would be important is choosing a camera that fits your style, and has the features you need. -G

What is the remote shutter cable for GX9? I was told RSL1 is not compatible with the GX9.
Asked by: Felimon
The GX9 does not have a remote release capability that plugs into the camera. I haven't tried the bluetooth option. But then I use this camera more for travel and street photography. If use of a remote is important I use my G9 on a tripod. But that doesn't mean you can't take long exposures with this camera on a tripod. Just use the 2 sec self timer and be sure you have the shutter set to AUTO in the camera menu (first screen) so it will switch to the mechanical shutter automatically when it is needed without you having to think about it. With the great image stabilization you will be able to successfully hand hold at longer shutter speeds and with reasonable High ISO handling you will be able to push your times hand held even further. One other note... Like some other panasonic models, the GX9 has a tripod mount that is very far forward and it was a challenge to find a mounting plate that worked well. I use one similar to the Vello CG-GX9 Hand Grip which is arca-type compatible.
