Mixing a beloved zoom range with a relatively compact design, the Canon EF-mount 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD from Tamron is a versatile lens covering a useful portrait to medium telephoto perspectives. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent brightness throughout the zoom range and offers increased control over depth of field for achieving selective focus effects. A minimum focusing distance of 3.1' along with a 1:3.1 maximum magnification benefit working with close-up subjects and the rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. Complementing the optical assets is a USD autofocus motor, which delivers notably quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance that suits both stills and video applications. Also, four-stop-effective Vibration Compensation helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens is moisture-resistant and has a fluorine coating on the front element to enable its use in trying environmental conditions.

Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD Reviews
Brilliant Value To Cost Ratio, But Test Its Autofocus
This lens will give you sharp images with good color. Bokeh is smooth and pleasant. Please refer to attached images which are unedited from the RAW file, but cropped to show best detail: Coffee cup shot at 70mm @ f4.5 and bycyclist shot at 210mm @ f4. The build is solid and light enough to carry without discomfort for hours. I only caution buyers to test the lens' auto focus. It's quick and does well with my Canon 6D MkII, but there seems to be a bug that may apply to this lens. I use back button focusing, to which it is responsive, but when I press on the shutter button to take the exposure, the focus will occassionally shift rather slightly; just enough to ruin a shallow DoF image. I've checked the stabilization settings using the Tap In Console, and setting it to Capture seems to help, but not all the time. The only sure fire way to prevent this issue is to turn VC off. I'd give it three stars for this issue, but the savings in comparison to the Canon version is incredible, so that deserves a star in itself considering that the EF mount is all but officially dead.
Consistant
Not a fast lens, but it least it maintains a consistent aperture throughout its' zoom range. Fairly compact.
Worth the sale price
I already have the Tamron 70-200 F2.8, and love it. I bought this F4 Because of the lighter weight to use on my star tracker, and lug around if I don't need the extra stop. Mounting collar is questionable at this reduced weight, but $130 is too much! the one on my F2.8 is the same size, so I use it to ballance the weight on tracker.
It's a pretty good lens
I like this lens
Good lens for it money
Very light lens, but not so good autofocus, like on canon lenses. Good for its money
My experience wasn't so good
My experience with this lens wasn't so good let me tell you why I reallly really really wanted this lens so much it was on discount then it went up again to the regular price I called BH and they were kind enough and so helpful like the best ordering experience ever !!! But here's the problem when I received the lens I thought It would work out of the camera turns out it's doesn't so I ordered The tap in turns out that didn't work I called Tamron and they explained that you need the original canon adapter to be able to take advantage of the auto focus this is something you have to take in mind im so disappointed because I'm going to the ppa on Sunday and I wanted To use the lens other wise I would Have giving it the 5 stars but thank you BH !! I love Your service
Awesome lens!
I love this lens. I bought it because of the price, versus the Canon lens, but it really takes nice pictures! Sharp and stable.
