question

Does this lens have focus breathing? Has anyone tested specifically for it?
Asked by: Cengiz
While we have not done any testing regarding focus breathing, searching on Google I did find a few reviews that state that the lens does have some focus breathing, framing more similarly to a 150mm lens at the minimum focus distance when the lens is set to 210mm. PhotoShelter has a YouTube video titled Focus Breathing on the Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC that shows the effect of the lens' focus setting on framing when set at both 70mm and 210mm.

How about the autofocus speed and accuracy? I'm a boxing and MMA shooter and concerned about AF speed.
Asked by: Julio
This Tamron f/4 zoom is slower to focus than a Nikon f/4 70-200 and also slower than any f/2.8 lens. It might be acceptable for fast action indoors on a D500, since you can leave it on f/4 and get up to 10 FPS on continuous high. It would not be my choice for the type of photography you are doing.
