3 Legged Thing Punks Brian Tripod with Airhed... Overview

The black/gray Punks Brian Travel Tripod with Airhed Neo Ball Head from 3 Legged Thing is a carbon fiber support with a load capacity of 30.9 lb that can hold a mirrorless up to a large format camera. Unlocking the twist-locks and extending the 5-section legs and the 2-section center column, the tripod can reach a maximum height of 74".

Also, removing the center column, attaching the Arca-type compatible ball head to the yoke, and splaying the legs all the out, the tripod has a minimum height of 7.5". The tripod can also deal with uneven terrain because of its independent leg spread and 3-variable leg angles of 23°, 55°, and 85°. One of the removable 8-layer carbon fiber legs converts into a monopod that reaches a maximum height of 76". Additionally, the 3 lb Punks Brian Travel Tripod easily folds down to 16.1" with its reverse-folding legs

Is this tripod sturdy enough to hold a 200-500mm lens for hiking?
Asked by: Linda
Weight-wise, yes it can hold the lens, and if there's no wind, and you opt for a fast shutter speed, yes it can be sturdy. but this is a lightweight tripod, and with my 100-400 lens, and even a slight breeze, i'll still have blurry images if I'm shooting anything with a relatively slow shutter speed. so overall, it's great for hiking & travel, but not so great with long lenses with low shutter speeds, imo.

Hi Linda, All heads are attached to a 3/8th male thread so as long as your other head has a 3/8th female thread then they will work.
