General Features
Virtually Inaudible Operation
The two Silent Wings PWM fans feature fluid-dynamic bearings, smooth six-pole motors, and airflow-optimized fan blades. The front Silent Wings 3 fan provides extremely high air pressure, thanks to a funnel-shaped air inlet in the frame. There is also a decoupled fan mounting with vibration-isolating elements on the heat sink.
Immense Cooling Power
The Dark Rock Pro 4 does not compromise in regards to silence and performance for overclocked systems and demanding graphics applications. It provides a rating of 250W TDP and helps achieve low temperatures, even during periods of peak CPU performance.
Advanced Design
The Dark Rock Pro 4 is equipped with seven 6mm copper heat pipes that help maximize heat conductance. Airflow-optimized, wave-contoured cooling fins with small dots on their surfaces increase the air circulation, and a special black coating with ceramic particles makes efficient heat transfers possible.
Double-Tower Layout
The Dark Rock Pro 4 contains two aluminum heat sinks and the cutouts provided enhance its RAM compatibility. Two fans are pre-installed and it is also possible to add another 120mm fan for improved cooling.
User-Friendly
The mounting kit for the Dark Rock 4 is completely black, matching the black design of the cooler itself. You can conveniently install the cooler on the motherboard from above, and the brushed aluminum top cover with its diamond cut finish adds a touch of style.

My Ryzen 7 3700X was running 90C and higher when rendering videos with the stock cooler. Though the Dark Rock Pro 4 was massive and difficult to install, my temps are now closer to 70C when rendering videos.

Lack of quality control

There is rust/pitting underneath the protective sticker on the coldplate. This should never have left the factory. The pitting is deep enough to stop my fingernail. There are no other signs of water damage.

I didn't expect the air cooler to be this big, but it perfectly fit inside the case. Installation was easy for me with an extra fan to maintain the temperature of CPU. I would buy again for any future PC build for me.

This is a great cooler that was easy to install, and silently keeps my 5950X very cool, even when overclocked. Temps stay well below 70 C.

Outstanding cooling, but it's chonky.

Measure you clearanced, this is a beast of a cooler in height. More importantly, the front fan can interfere with your memory. You can adjust the height of where the front fan is attached to help clear memory but if you've got ARGB memory that is tall, you're going to have problems. I use the crucial non-RGB and no heat sink without any issues. ADATA XPG with heatsink (no rgb) has almost zero tolerance for height.

This cooler is incredibly quiet and is able to spin at a very low speed when necessary. I have no complaints at all!

If my motherboard has two cpu fan header, should I plug-in each fan to its own plug on motherboard or should I use the provided splitter and plug both fans into one cpu header on the motherboard?
Asked by: Guntars
I'd use the splitter. It makes it easier to control the speed of both fans at once in your bios. Plus it frees up another header for more case fans.

What brand of thermal paste comes layered on this cooler? Should it be wiped off to apply a better paste?
Asked by: Mark
Be Quiet! does not specify but being that they are a reputable company, I honestly doubt that they would ship one of their flagship Air cooling products with something that isn't good. The thermal paste is not pre-applied, it comes with a small tube.

Will this fit with a Strix b550-f motherboard and an RTX 3080??
Asked by: andres
It will but when it comes to a CPU cooler that is as large as the Dark Rock Pro 4 Air Cooler BH #BEBK022, its more important to look at if A) your case supports this height and B) if the RAM you have will interfere with it.
