MSI Infinte X overview

  • 1Description

The Infinite X Desktop Computer from MSI is a gaming system built with powerful hardware and the aesthetics to match. Specs-wise, it's equipped with a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i7-8700 six-core processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM. Thanks to its dedicated GPU, you'll be able to play graphically demanding games at high resolutions.

For storage, it has a 256GB M.2 NMVe SSD and a 2TB 7200 rpm hard drive. Should you need more room, you can replace its pre-installed drives with larger capacity ones, or attach external storage solutions using its multiple USB ports. Other integrated features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 4.2, HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI-D outputs, RGB LED lighting, and multiple audio jacks. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home.

MSI Mystic Light
This system is equipped with MSI Mystic Light RGB lighting. Install the Mystic Light software to select different colors, lighting effects, sync it with other RGB LED products, and more.
Easy to Carry
A built-in handle located on the top of the case makes it much easier to transport it to a LAN-party or a friend's house.
Easy Access to Components
The components within this system are easily accessible and can be upgraded when needed. Add more storage space, upgrade the processor or graphics card, and more.
Stay Cool
To keep things operating at optimal temperatures, this system's chassis features separated chambers for cooling individual components.
Audio
The Infinite X is equipped with multiple hardware and software features designed to improve your listening experience. Audio Boost is a hardware amplifier integrated onto the codex's motherboard for an enhanced headset experience. Meanwhile, Nahimic 2+ provides you with virtual 7.1 surround sound that's also VR compatible.
Software
  • DragonEye - Allows you to watch a YouTube video or Twitch stream while playing a game simultaneously. Add the link and select the size, position, volume, and transparency, and use hotkeys to adjust its settings.
  • Command Center - A system monitoring and performance tool with an intuitive interface that you can use to increase system stability, maximize performance, and optimize cooling features.
  • X-Split - An easy and multi-featured streaming software that helps you broadcast your gaming session to Twitch, YouTube, UStream, and more. This system comes with a 1-year premium license.

  • Dust Filters - Keep dust out of your system with its bottom-side dust filter, which can be easily removed and cleaned.
  • High Quality Components - Titanium Chokes, Dark Caps, and Dark Chokes allow for improved power efficiency, system overclocking and stability, and lower temperatures.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    MSI Infinte X reviews

Infinite X Desktop Computer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gaming desktop This gaming desktop is great! I can play everything on ultra settings. It's extremely quiet and heaps better than the PC I built back in 2010. I could have built one but for the price of this I saved at least $300. The GPU alone in this is $750. Only thing I didn't realize was it is air cooled and NOT liquid cooled like the photos. You have to buy the one with the 1080ti to get liquid cooling. Also MSI have overclock software but since this is not a 8700k and a 8700 overclocking is not possible but nice to see how easy it is. Overall if you just want to setup and game this is the way to go and upgrading will be really easy in future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well for photography I was looking for a desktop with enough power to run LIghtroom and Photoshop with rapid turn around times for rendering and adjustments. This works well. I HATE all the flashing lights, especially the keyboard which randomly gets all rainbow colored, and then just goes dark. The box is huge. Still, set up was pretty easy, and everything is working well.
