    Vinta Type II Reviews

Type II Camera Backpack Kit (Forest/Tan) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing company After buying this backpack and posting about it on social media, a team member at Vinta saw my posts and replied with detailed, personalized information on how to get the most out of my backpack. They even sent me the straps that attach to the bottom of the pack - for FREE. Incredible customer service. I just returned from my first trip with this backpack. It was a little annoying to unzip two zippers when unloading my camera for airport security and general use, but I appreciated the extra protection for my camera when I was on the beach.  The backpack is small and compact, but suitable for the essentials. It holds its shape and fits perfectly under an airplane seat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish, but not perfect I was in NYC for a couple of days recently and purchased the new Vinta Type II backpack (forest green) in-store from B&H. First time in the actual store, and this is a little off point, but the customer service crew were AMAZING! And if you're wondering, NO I'm not being paid to write that! : ) Thanks B&H for a great experience. Okay, about the Vinta II: The good: -Built tough and will protect your gear. -Looks great in any of the three colour options. (I saw them all and went with the 'green') -It's very stylish and unassuming as a camera backpack. -It's waterproof -It's sturdy, holds its shape, and can be rested upright without any support. -Rear (protected) access -The camera travel pack inserts are well made and and are also weather resistant. -Good amount of velcro equipment dividers provided. -Scuff resistant. -Excellent for a small mirrorless setup. -Lifetime warranty The bad: -It's expensive at nearly $300 (USD) and should be more versatile for this price (see further info below). -Very tight pockets (borderline useless front pocket -- it's so tight) -Somewhat heavy -Tight-fit for full-frame DSLR and couple of lenses + additional small gear. -No top-access to camera. (Rear access is great, but cumbersome with the camera pack to get through as well.) -Cannot be used as a camera bag without 'camera inserts'. It doesn't have enough velcro lined on the interior walls to use the dividers without the inserts. This would have really made a huge difference for me! -No sternum or waist straps (detachable or not) - given how heavy this thing gets fully load, the straps would be helpful if you went hiking with it for instance. I'm not a hiker, but this could be a big problem for those of you out there! -The laptop compartment only works well with smaller cameras or lenses in the bag. -The leather details are more like 'Pleather'. -The side velcro strap for your tripod is a bit flimsy -You have to purchase bottom bag tripod straps separately. -This is NOT a weekender bag. For example, if you wanted to pack all your camera gear and some clothes for a quick trip/shoot, this is bag is not expandable and in all likelihood, you'd need a second bag/suitcase. -It's a little fancy-looking. For me, I dig the look (!), but that's personal of course. It could be an issue depending on where you'd be travelling with it. -Shoulder straps (although padded) are a bit uncomfortable over time Bottom line: It's a great looking and tough waterproof camera backpack, which is not easy to find. I've used it for a couple of weeks now and am on the fence about returning it and exchanging it for another backpack. Best part is I feel very comfortable that my gear is protected with this bag, but I expected it to be way more versatile and comfortable than it purports to be. This is not a Mr. Gadget backpack. If you're cool with that, you'll love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but very tight. It is a beautiful camera backpack, perhaps one of the most beautiful Ive seen. I got complimented the first day I wore it. My full frame camera barely fits, I have to take down the battery grip in order for it to get in the bag. I never had to do that to any of my other bags. I wish it was an inch an a half thicker. Consider this as your city chic walk around camera backpack, not recommended for heavy traveling or hiking. The pockets are made only to keep a thin documents or passport, but nothing else would fit. Like other reviewers were saying, it would be nice to have a chest strap. Beautiful, but considering the steep price tag, they could have put a little more effort into it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Satisfactory. This is my first backpack. I bought it on my doctors suggestion because I have a bad back. I decided on Vinta after looking at at least 50 other brands. I’m glad I chose this brand. Nothing else on the market compare with the quality or comfort.
