This high-performance 802.11ac router is designed to automatically identify and prioritize gaming traffic to help optimize experiences, whether you're competing solo against others or playing alongside teammates. When you're in between online game sessions, the Archer C5400X switches priority to video streaming to provide you with smooth 4K movie experiences without the annoying buffering stutters. You can also connect your video game console or computer directly to the router through its eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, two of which can be combined using link aggregation to achieve higher speeds with compatible devices.

Fast Wi-Fi

The eight external antennas work alongside a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, three co-processors, and 1GB of memory to deliver up to 5400 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and two separate 5 GHz frequencies, providing you with high bandwidth for smooth online gaming and video streaming experiences.

Dynamic Optimization Engine

The TP-Link Archer C5400X automatically detects and prioritizes video game and streaming video traffic for fully optimized entertainment.

RangeBoost

Devices located farther away from the Archer C5400X benefit from greatly improved connection quality so you can game almost anywhere. Beamforming technology locates the connected devices and further improves the router's range and the signal strength to each mobile device, delivering a more reliable and efficient wireless connection.

High-Speed Wired Network

Connect computers, video game consoles, smart TVs, and other wired devices to the router's eight Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. One Gigabit WAN port is available for your broadband modem.

Link Aggregation

Team two of the Gigabit LAN ports or one LAN with the WAN port to double connection speeds from 1 Gb/s to 2 Gb/s with compatible devices.

Comprehensive Security

A free lifetime subscription to TP-Link HomeCare, powered by Trend Micro, is include, which keeps your network protected against malicious websites, intruders, and viruses. Features include a built-in antivirus, a guest network login for visitors, an Access Control List (ACL) to allow or block specified device connections, parental controls, and WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK encryption.

VPN Access

Protect your personal data when you're away from your home with the router's built-in VPN and OpenVPN features, which use PPTP technology to create an encrypted connection to your home network when you're accessing public Wi-Fi. VPN Acceleration helps to optimize remote connection speeds.

Easy Sharing

Dual USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports make it easy to share photos, videos, and music across your home network's connected devices. Or you can configure the router's FTP server to access your files remotely. The built-in print server allows you to wirelessly print from multiple computers and the integrated media server lets you play music, watch videos, and view photos from any device on your network. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 are synonymous.

101% uptime, 1Gb/s, rock solid & bullet proof

I've used this router for a year, 3000sqft, ranch style home (wood frame with reinforced 5/8 plywood walls & R30 insulation throughout). 10-12 clients (wired & wireless but mostly wireless) spread over all locations inside house & out in the yard. Clients consist of multiple 4k TV's, multiple gaming stations (desktop Ryzen7/GTX1070ti & gamer Corei7/gtx1060 laptops, 4 snapdragon 845 type cell phones all running apps & streaming vids&music at all hours simultaneously with zero lags, 0 glitches, 0 drops or 0 resets over the past year. This router is rock solid & bullet proof over the entire year at 1.5 GB/mo of traffic with 0 hiccups. It consistently speedtests 1Gb/s (the limit of my provider) anytime anywhere in the house or even across the street with all clients busy online. I've very happy with this router & give it top rating.

    Awesome Router, Great Price

I have been looking for a nice tri-band router for a while, but I always held back because of the price. Then along came these in one of B&H's daily DealZones. They seemed to fit what I needed and they looked insanely cool, so I pulled the trigger. Couldn't be happier. Internet speeds have noticeably improved around here (three adults and two teenagers live here and it's not uncommon for four streams of Netflix plus computer usage to go on at once) - not to mention the issues we get into when we're moving massive amounts of data over the internet for our work. This also solved the range issue that one of the teens was having - our router has always been centrally located, but you can't do much more than that. The extra range from this router fixed that problem right up. I set up one 5G network for the teens and my roommate's fiancee and the other for me and my roommate, since we're the ones who bottleneck the internet constantly when we're working. So far, so great.

Second time's a charm. This router is fast.

I wrote a 1 star review for the first router I received (which is still posted). I ended up exchanging that router for a replacement. This one worked perfectly out of the box and was easy to set up. The extenders I have I really don't need, but use them for my printer and other equipment that requires ethernet. Streaming is instantaneous on any of my equipment and, while I am not a gamer, this router handles all of my home network service traffic and printers with no problem at all and it worked out of the box in less than 15 minutes of set up to assemble and configure it with all of my network and extenders. So hopefully you get one the first time that isn't a dud. What other reviews have said about TPLink Support is accurate. I sent over an hour trying to get the first one working and never got the email follow-up I was promised to finish troubleshooting. The lady I spoke to kept asking me about which LEDS were lit (There is only one big symbol LED on this thing---I told her this repeatedly and told her it was a C5400X gaming router...she kept asking if the world LED was lit up...there is no world led... *sigh*) So when it works, it works very well. when it is not functioning as expected, I suggest you just get it replaced if it is a recent purchase. B&H replaced my router in a week with the RMA process and even though that was inconvenient, it was still easier than dealing with TPLINK support.

Hope your luck is different - mine was DOA

I was upgrading from an Archer AC2600 which I've had for a couple of years but because of the number of additional streaming and connected devices in my home, I opted to purchase this router which I thought was a good value refurbished. I had to be standing over the router to get only one band transmitting. I was on the phone with TPLINK customer service for over an hour resetting, rebooting, and logging into the item and even as soon as I walked more than 5 feet from the router I could not get a signal from any wireless network broadcasting (if it was even broadcasting more than the one I could see while standing over it. ). Still, I'm hoping this one was a dud and requested a replacement. TP-link routers are pretty good. This refurbished one I received was a dud. I hope the replacement is better and I do not have this problem. I will update this review when I receive the replacement.
