Great speed, long life. What's not to like? I normally use Samsung Pro in critical applications.

OS cloned

My old OS was on a 512MB SSD. When researching replacements, I learned that the PRO version was rated for higher usage: such as C drives. That is probably why my old SSD was getting significant media related errors after 5 years of service. The transition was seamless. YouTube videos showed how to replace, clone and re partition to the latest Win10 requirements.

Not as fast as advertised.

I do not doubt the reliability of Samsung drives. I have purchased Samsungs SSD's for years but the speeds I was getting out these drives just weren't that great.

Read speeds great, slow write speeds.

i have an amd ace x570 based motherboard with a ryzen 3900x cpu. latest amd drivers and bios loaded, with samsung magician installed. in crystaldiskmark v8.0, my 980 pro shows seq1 r:6404/w:1262, rnd4k r:1177/w:1064. my 970 evo shows seq1 r:3275/w:2497, rnd4k r:1186/w:1163. while i see 2x the read speed of my 970, i am also seeing 1/2x the write speed of my 970. no real solution yet, from my searches. do your research before purchasing. i would recommend getting a 970 evo for now.

That there is the new 980 out there, and it could be bought for less. So what! I like the MLC memory cells in this bad-boy better. These Samsung SSDs do not go bad as far as I know of personally. And they will out-live their sibling 980 ssds by a long ways!

The Samsung 1TB 970 PRO NVMe M.2 Internal SSD BH #SAMZV7P1T0BW is not compatible with an iMac Late 2012. Apple uses a custom SSD design which is not standard like the M.2 PCIe connector on this SSD.

I have a Dell XPS 15 9560 Laptop with a256GB SSB drive installed. Please confirm that this drive will install properly in my machine. Also, since it will replace my current SSB drive, what software can be used to transfer all the data including Windows 10 to the new drive? Thank you.

Yes, the Samsung 1TB 970 PRO NVMe M.2 Internal SSD will work with your Dell XPS 15 9560. Samsung has their own data migration software that you can download and clone your existing drive to the new drive. Make sure you get an enclosure that supports NVMe PCIe M.2 SSDs.
