question

How close can the cameras focus? I might use it to capture meters on an operating panel.
Asked by: Michael
I would not recommend using these cameras for that purpose. These cameras are made to be placed on a vehicle to show what is going on in front or in back of the vehicle and to capture license plates. It is not meant to focus on a number meter.I would recommend using a camera with a zoom lens for that.

Does the rear camera have its own SD card or does it record onto the same SD card in the dash mounted camera? Also, does it record two views on one video? Or are they captured and viewed separately?

The rear camera does not have it's own micro SD card, it records to the same micro SD card in the dash mounted camera. The videos are captured and stored/viewed separately.

For the rear camera you plug it directly to the front camera, for the front camera you would plug it into the car adapter power port.
