The 15.6" gram Multi-Touch Notebook from LG is a thin and light system designed to keep up with you throughout the day. It's powered by a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and two 512GB M.2 SATA SSDs for efficient multitasking and quick access to frequently used programs. The gram's 15.6" 1920 x 1080 IPS display is driven by integrated Intel UHD graphics, and it even has an HDMI port, so you can connect an external display for larger viewing and enhanced multitasking.

Connect to the Internet via 802.11ac Wi-Fi and pair compatible wireless peripherals with Bluetooth 4.1. Other integrated features include a backlit keyboard, a USB Type-C port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a microSD card reader, a backlit keyboard, a webcam, speakers, a microphone, and a headphone jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home (64-Bit).

sRGB 100%
With a 100% sRGB color space, the gram is ideal for photographers, graphic designers, and other users who handle color sensitive work.
Two-Way USB Type-C Charging
The gram can charge a smartphone with up to 18 W output while asleep, or even another gram, and can be recharged using a portable battery pack via the USB Type-C port. Easily switch functions with an on-screen menu.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
DTS Headphone: X
DTS Headphone: X provides you with virtual surround sound through a pair of headphones for an immersive listening experience.
All-Day Battery
The battery within the gram is rated to last you through a whole day, so you can carry it around without a power adapter.
US MIL-STD 810G
The gram is designed to be strong and has a US MIL-STD 810G rating for durability in low pressure (altitude), salt fog, high and low temperatures, sand and dust, vibration, humidity, and shock.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

    15.6" gram Multi-Touch Notebook is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Likely the VERY BEST Notebook for 2018! I think of my notebook computer as a lumberjack thinks of their chainsaw - as a tool I use so very much that every aspect of it becomes important over time. Some would say I'm a bit obsessive, but I believe something I use for nearly 12 hours a day, whether productive work or entertainment, is worth the extra effort. I pre-ordered this latest version of the LG gram and I've used it hard ever since. For me, it replaced a top-of-the-line $3,000 Razer Blade 14". Prior to that I had a $2,700 Macbook Pro with bootcamp. In 24 years of using computers, this is the first review I've ever written for a notebook computer. Key Considerations: 1. Very Fast - boot-up, sign-in, program loading are all faster than any other notebook computer. I'm not the most patient person so speed is key to me. 2. Thin/Light - I'm amazed at how handy it is that this computer is radically light and thin. 3. Battery - The battery life is so good it's not a worry, i'll use it for a couple hours and it's down mabye 10% or so. 4. Screen/Keyboard - These are both excellent. While 1080p resolution doesn't sound impressive, it is a perfect fit for this size computer and I'm a guy who loves huge curved monitors. Some people think more pixels is important for a 15.6" screen but in this case it is a matter of less is more - by going 1080 the computer is more snappy and drains less power and saves some money. Backlight for keyboard comes in handy and keyboard is great for typing. Numeric pad is good and fits well with the computer layout - nothing is wasted. Surprises: 1. I'm shocked by how fast the fingerprint scan is - 1/2 a second login to Windows at a touch, you can't live without this feature once you experience it. The IT expert at our company had to do change some settings so I can use it versus typing in a password, it is surprising to me how well it works and how I can't live without it. 2. Every once in awhile I'll barely hear the fan turn on, the strange thing is the barely audible fan turns on when it doesn't seem like I'm taxing the system. The computer has never really been hot, even when playing games. 3. Speed. Seems like LG just found a way to make the components work better together. Programs load faster than any other notebook (and my day job is at a company that resells computers for high-end simulators, so I've been using fast SSDs for years). 4. Feel. This is so light that you might fear it could easily break. I've had zero problems with it but if you're the type of person who often drops a computer from 5 feet onto the ground, this is probably not the computer for you. LG says it meets a military standard (MIL-STD-810) - which is impressive in such a lightweight chassis. Since I carry this computer from home-to-work-to-home-to-airport-to-hotel-etc... I love how lightweight it is, plus even the AC adapter is lightweight. Fewer back problems. 2.5 lbs. is surprisingly much lighter than 4 lbs. for a computer. Price/Performance: Just outstanding. I gave up a $3,000 Razer notebook to get this $2,000 LG and am very happy. 1 TB SSD and 2 slots is very smart. Other Thoughts: This computer has the ability to charge to 80%, instead of 100%, which I engaged as soon as I first booted it up and which means the effectiveness of the battery will do better into the future (same principle for Telsa vehicles where you aren't to charge them to 100%). System/Battery combo is so good 80% charge is perfectly fine. The lack of bloatware is highly appreciated. The ability to use the computer's USB-C to fast charge my Google Pixel phone (USB-C) can come in handy. Also, I'm able to have one charger for both the computer and phone via USB-C. Notebook's Wifi has been rock solid. I didn't expect much from the speaker audio (I use headphones or bluetooth speaker if i need audio usually) but it is perhaps the #1 or #2 notebook I've ever owned for quality audio. I've tested it with some Steam games and it has performed very good - another reason I appreciate the 1080p resolution screen and with Thunderbolt 3 built in, there is the potential of external enhancements because thunderbolt 3 is like having a central line to the backbone of the computer, helping to future proof this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deserves 5 stars, but..... This will not be an in-depth review since I've only had this laptop for about 2 weeks now. For techies, read other reviews. Initial impressions are what we'll talk about here. Firstly, I was very surprised at how light this laptop is. I saw the weight information in the specs, but holding it in one hand lets you can really appreciate the difference. And wow, what a difference from the 5 year old 15" Samsung that I used to use, and compared to the current 13" MacBook Pro that my wife uses, it's easily 1/3 the weight (not trying to be exact here). With that light weight comes some cautions. The housing holding the screen is more flexible than you will be accustomed to if you've owned any other laptop before. It requires being careful not to stress this component. As such, I've been very easy on all the other plugs (3 USBs and 1 Thunderbolt), trying not to stress them too much. I know that the Thunderbolt is the next generation to come, but I'm not sure what it's doing on a PC. Also, instead of there being a standard SD slot on the side, it was designed for a mirco-SD chip. Do you know of any professional digital camera that uses micro-SD chips (phones don't count)? Me neither. I knew that before purchasing this laptop, so I ordered the requisite dongle, but that's just something else to carry when you're on location. Battery life, with the screen at full or close to full brightness, will power the laptop for far less time than the advertised amount. Still, 6-7 hours is impressive. The screen is crisp and clear, although not as impressive as Apple's Retina. I didn't buy this laptop to use as my sole post processor. For that, I have a 27" iMac. In a pinch, the LG will work out just fine. Colors are vibrant due to the screen being glossy and not matte. If you don't want to share what you're working on with others nearby, don't get a glossy screen which means don't buy this LG model. In summary, this laptop deserves 5 star for what it is. However, if you tend to be careless, drop things often, or need a laptop for use in rough conditions, perhaps you should plan on buying something else.
