  • 1Description
Found in: Work Laptops

The 13.3" ThinkPad L380 Yoga Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook from Lenovo is designed for business purposes, featuring the performance, security, and portability users need. Specs-wise, it's powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Should you need more room, you can attach external storage solutions using its USB ports, as well as quickly offload data to other devices with its microSD card reader.

Its 13.3" display, driven by integrated Intel UHD graphics, features a 1920 x 1080 resolution for crisp and clear Full HD playback. Moreover, it has an HDMI port that you can use for connecting a display for larger viewing and enhanced multitasking. Other integrated features include a fingerprint reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 4.1, a webcam, a microphone, speakers, and an audio in/out jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Pro.

2-in-1
Featuring a 2-in-1 design, the display on the ThinkPad L380 can fold back to multiple viewing modes such as tent, tablet, and more to best fit your current application.
Battery
The ThinkPad L380 is equipped with an all-day battery, which lasts up to 12.85 hours depending on use. Moreover, the battery features RapidCharge technology that can provide up to 80% capacity within an hour of charging.
Security
The ThinkPad L380 is equipped with a webcam and TPM security. With Windows Hello, you can easily log into your system with just a glance, even if you forgot your password. Meanwhile, the Kensington lock slot and TPM security keeps your device and data protected.

Windows 10 Pro

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
Windows 10 Pro
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.

    Lenovo ThinkPad L380 Yoga reviews

    13.3" ThinkPad L380 Yoga Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook (Silver) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around laptop!!! This is my first Windows PC in 9 years . I was in need of a Windows PC in order to run some software that only runs on Windows. After much research I decided to get the Yoga L380 with i7-8550, 8GB Ram and 512GB SSD because it was at a very good price two weeks ago. Oh boy, this thing worth every $$. Still need to get use to Windows 10 after 9 years only working with iOS but overall, the performance is great. Make sure to get the network adapter in case, like me, you need a RJ45 port available for testing networks or to connect to equipment via ethernet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight powerhouse I was so delighted to have received my new Yoga 2 weeks before the expected delivery time (so disappointed it would take so long). But now that I've had it for several weeks, it's been a delight to use and does everything that I expected. I'm running Autocad and Revit software and it has no problem doing so. Not one hiccup! Amazing! It's so light as compared to my previous Thinkpad that I forget I even have it in my backpack. The touchscreen and tablet mode are really nice features. I'm glad that I made the choice for a touchscreen. Overall, 5 stars! Beyond my expectations! Thanks Lenovo! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I Was Looking For I got my Thinkpad L380 for graduate school, so I could use the same device to type up papers/homework, take notes on PDFs of journal articles, and read textbooks. And it has worked exactly as planned. In particular, the L380 has a really nice keyboard (much better than the tablets I was looking at), and the ability to store (and charge) the active stylus in unit is a huge plus. I have not tested its durability yet, but I've had great success with my other Thinkpads in that regard and see no reason why this one can't do the same. The L380 seems to be midrange on the weight, but the battery lasts me all day so I don't have to bring my charger with me. For reference, I got the minimum features for this device, except I upgraded to 8 GB of RAM. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Rugged Work Laptop I was looking at the consumer level Yoga, but decided the business level Yoga would work better for me. I think this is a fantastic product. Greatly improved trackpad over previous models and decent specs for a business laptop. the back of the screen is made of aluminum so it certainly helps on the rugged factor. Some gripes I would have is it does get hot on the lap so constantly moving it to another position to help with the heat. Being a business laptop there is no chance of gaming on it so if you want to have a little fun on the side, you should probably go with one with a graphics card. Overall solid product with decent work specs of you need something that mobile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from L380 YOGA Exceed my expectations (at least for now). Have received this item for a week. Luckily Lenovo made the L-line which made a great workhorse more affordable. The L-line allows user to upgrade the RAM later, which is good considering RAM is very expensive for now. The digitizer is much better than my X220 tablet. Intel's 8th generation CPU is much better than the 7ths. Despite the keyboard does not retract in the tablet mode, it does disable the keys, which prevents typing by mistake. Hope it could last long. Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Road Warrior Laptop I bought the ThinkPad L380 2 months ago and have used it everyday since without having any buyers remorse. I am on the road frequently and us a virtual desktop interface to connect to my company's network. This laptop is fast, has the ports i need to present wherever I am and has a battery life that lasts all day. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive and great value Bought it a week ago and so far impressed by performance ( have i7 and 16Gb RAM 512Gb HD). All apps work great and have even 2 virtual machines working at same time gracefully. So far a great business laptop with excellent performance ( for high end config)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've had my Lenovo for a day- Battery talk PROS: Good upgrade. Rapid battery charge. Good graphics. Cortana (computer assistant) was really good at helping me set-up the computer. I like the layout and organization of the computer programs. I.e., I can add all my personal, school, and work email into their application and check all emails at once, rather than logging in-and-out of multiple platforms. Other features such as yoga and touch screen seem pretty cool. I really like the stylus feature. CONS: Battery life seems to drain quickly and is not as long as posted by the company (up to 12 hours). I.e., my Lenovo shows the battery life is at 7 hours and 9 minutes at a 99% charge. Additionally, it's brand new and I'm having problems with one window on Microsoft Edge that will not close (even after hours have passed). I noticed a bit of overheating, which is slightly concerning. Stylus is a bit hard to take out for use. Delivery seemed to take forever. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase. Before buying the product, I was really excited because of features listed, but specifically battery life. Even though 7 hours is good, it does not fulfill the expectations provided by the company. I am disappointed with the battery life. On the bright side, I'm really amazed by how fast the battery charges. There's still more features of the computer that I have to explore, but I hope this computer is able to meet my other needs for school and work in the future.
