Created with a Max-Q design, the aluminum black 15.6" Aero 15X v8-BK4K4P Notebook from Gigabyte is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, a 15.6" IPS anti-glare display with an Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 resolution for clean and crisp visuals, 100% Adobe RGB gamut coverage, and support for NVIDIA Optimus technology. The core of this system is driven by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-8750H processor, which can be overclocked up to 4.1 GHz, plus 16GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM. Storage is provided by a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD.

If you want to add external storage, optical drives, memory card readers, and more, the 15X v8-BK4K4P offers one 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 port that also supports 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Type-C and DisplayPort 1.2, plus one 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port and two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. General Features

Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
NVIDIA Optimus
NVIDIA Optimus is a computer GPU switching technology which, depending on the resource load generated by client software applications, will seamlessly switch between integrated and dedicated graphics adapters within a computer system in order to provide either maximum performance or minimum power draw from the system's graphics rendering hardware.
NVIDIA Max-Q Design
Thanks to NVIDIA's Max-Q design, GeForce GTX GPUs can be installed in laptops as thin as 0.7". It's all made possible by Max-Q, an innovative approach to designing thin, fast, and quiet gaming laptops. Everything is engineered for the thin gaming laptop experience, including the laptop, chip, drivers, thermal and electrical components, and more.
Dual M.2 2280 Slots
The Aero 15X v8-BK4K4P has two M.2 2280 slots, one of which supports PCIe and SATA SSDs, while the other only supports PCIe SSDs.
Up to 32GB RAM
Two DDR4 slots support 32GB of 2666 MHz RAM, or 16GB per slot.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana, can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the Internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information-gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
Windows 10 Pro
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.

    Gigabyte Aero 15X reviews

    15.6" Aero 15X v8-BK4K4P Notebook is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great laptop, just short of being perfect I tried to write a large in depth review, but BH wouldn't let me submit because I think it went over the character count. Pros: -Fast, obviously -GREAT 4k screen -Small form factor and a simple yet sleek exterior design -Keyboard and trackpad is one of the better ones out there Cons: -Laptop is HORRIBLE without a fresh install of Windows. -Even installing Windows is a cumbersome task, without the right combination of drivers it will constantly crash and bluescreen so you need to make sure to get it right. -Advertised as 10 hours of battery life but probably gets closer to 5-6 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Best laptop so far. A laptop in between extreme lightweight laptops that are pretty much a tablet with keyboard. Cons: - The fan can get a little loud, it'll kick on when background windows updates or defender scans are happening. - Battery is less than 5 hr. even on 50% brightness for 4K model. Pros: - Love the design, very slim, yet doesn't sacrifice necessary features like an ethernet port. - Great looking screen, with barely any bezel. Haven't notice any bleeding, and the colors are fantastic. - The screen bezel has an edge so they keyboard keys don't smash into the screen. - I'm a sucker for LED keyboards, and this one is pretty amazing. Multi-color, great effects like fade on keypress -- someone had fun designing this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bloatware & Laptop won't turn on after 2 months use The gigabyte software that comes preinstalled in this laptop is absolutely terrible. Out of the box, this laptop is glitchy and sluggish. After spending a day or two freshly installing windows and updating the necessary drivers, it finally worked; however, not at the level of a laptop at this price point should. It will still hiccup just navigating windows. After under 2 months use, the laptop suddenly died on me. It won't power on or start up. When I press the power button the only thing that blinks is the wifi indicator. The motherboard probably gave out. This is after only 2 months of light use. I really wanted to like this laptop. The only thing positive I can say about it is that the 4k screen is amazing. Other than that, it was not an enjoyable experience using this laptop at all. I highly recommend staying away from this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monster machine, beautiful display! This laptop is a beast. I am switching from a MacBook Pro and am very happy with everything so far. The Aero 15X can handle anything I throw at it: gaming, editing, web browsing. The only two things that I find disappointing is the fan and the build. The fan is loud. However, it has to be, the processor and GPU need to breath. The build isn't as good as an apple product, I wouldn't feel comfortable using it for long travel trips into exotic locations. I recommend it. It's great and splendid and wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look and quality are impressive! Just received this Gigabyte laptop. I love the keyboard and thinness of the laptop. I have not explored more by playing online game and heave applications yet, but so far I like what I see and feel. I have been reading a lot of the review and pre-ordered this laptop from BHphotovideo. One of the reason i bought this laptop because my daughter wants to play VR games, and I believed it will be convenient for us when travel since it is very light! Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing The keyboard is satisfying. I reinstalled windows. I get stuttering whenever I turn on and sign in which is not something I would expect from an SSD but im pretty sure it has to do with my drivers. The track pad is slick, i installed a different driver for it after my reinstall of windows. Overall an amazing computer just not quite as snappy as I would hope for something with this price. this is my second week into using this wonderful machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Laptop My machine does not have any of the problems other people complained about. When it comes to bloatware, a fresh installation solves it all, and it does not even take half an hour. The design is utilitarian and subtle, and that's a major plus for someone using a single laptop for both gaming and design work. The thermals are not bad at all. All thin laptops throttle, and this machine has some of the best thermal performances I've seen in thin laptops (not that it's good performance compared with bulkier laptops with intrinsically better thermal solutions, but that's inevitable). The 1070 max-q is the beefier version (as opposed to GS65), which is really cool. It leaves space for you to undervolt while maintaining GS65-level performance. There are not really a lot of comparable options on the market when it comes to a laptop of this particular interest (high-performance, gaming/work laptop). I am happy that this option exists.
