How well is this lens corrected for focus breathing? Panasonic 16-35/4 is superb. How does this Leica model compare?
In our experience the lens is highly correct and you see virtually no aperture movement while focusing and shooting video.

Made in Germay?
Yes, this lens is made in Germany. But the additional information added to the August 8, 2018 response here is outdated. That is to say, no longer are "all of the other SL lenses" made in Germany. While most are made in Germany, the new 24-70mm zoom is made in Japan. But don't fool yourself, when leica has something made in Japan or Portugal or Canada, they fully ensure that it is made every bit as well as the items made in Germany.

Does this lenses have internal focusing or does the lens extend outward going from 16mm to 35 mm?
Yes. The lens does have internal focusing and the barrel does not extend when zooming. This contributes to the ruggedness of the lens as there are less external moving parts.
