This extender works particularly well with the 50mm. I tested it on wallpaper. The small squares (in the fabric of the paper) are 0.5mm across, approximately. So in the crop (at full resolution) we are seeing details at 10 microns.

I have been using the extension tube with my GFX100s and a GF 110mm f2 lens for macro photography. The image quality is superb. It is east to use. I have mostly used iit on a tripod to focus stack close ups of flowers and plants. However, I have had some very good luck getting nice images hand held as well. This macro ring makes my 110mm much more versatile. I highly recommend it.

If it were not for the price tag, I'd give it five stars. Fits like a glove on my GFX 100S with the GF 63 and 110MM lenses. Recommended.

This definitely helps to reduce the closest focus distance, however the range of focus is incredibly narrow for most lenses that I use. It is not very versatile because of this, but if are able to achieve the magnification ratios you need with it, it is much cheaper than buying a dedicated macro lens.

For the 120mm macro, will the 18mm or the 45mm get closest to 1:1 magnification?

With the 120mm macro and 18mm extension tube the new magnification will be 0.65x. With the 120mm macro and 45mm extension tube the new magnification will be 0.88x. So 45mm extension tube will get you closer to 1:1.

No, this macro extension tube is only compatible with the medium format G-mount lenses for the GFX series of cameras.

Extension tubes are specific to a lens mount, not to any particular lens. The G extension tubes will work with any GF lens. The 100-150mm focal range covers most of the common macro range.
