Westcott H2Pro Overview

Designed to stabilize light stands, tripods, and other supports, as well as serve as counterweights for boom arms, this pack of two HurleyPro H2Pro Weight Bags from Westcott arrives on set or on location each weighing just 0.9 lb, but expanding to weigh 8.7 lb using a simple, locally available substance—water.

Made of heavy-duty durable fabric, the interior of the bag holds a reservoir with a large, oversized lid that makes it easy to fill it from hoses, faucets, or even streams or bodies of water on location. The return on investment is very fast using the funds you'll save by not having to ship filled sandbags. The bag has a strong nylon strap for hanging, and a full side zipper to join two bags together for a saddlebag design or join several bags for additional weight.

Westcott H2Pro Reviews

Measure by Volume, not by Weight

I bought a few of these on the recommendation of a YouTuber I respect. Hoping they serve for travel purposes when my normal shot bags won't fly. Meanwhile, on initial inspection, my guess is at least 25% of the cost of this product is tied up in elaborate embroidery that is correctly sized for a billboard on the freeway.

Leaks a bit if held upside down

Works good so far, but you have to be careful when using the bags that they are not upside down, as they will leak (very little) resulting in some of the equipment possibly getting wet. Would only use in travel situations.

Well constructed portable weight bags

These are good for travel shoots as they are flat and thin when empty, and provide reasonable weight when filled. One caution is that some might find the risk of having water and electrical cables on a set unacceptable. I've found that the bladders seal well and haven't seen any leakage.

Great Concept - Overpriced

The concept of this bag is good and the construction for the most part feels solid. The size is smaller then I would have expected for the money and the pouch that holds the water feels cheap. I don't expect getting more then a few months out of it. Another overpriced Westcott product.

8.75lbs isn't much

Great concept, but I wish there were two water bags within one bag that would double the weight and allow it to be draped over a c-stand leg. At 44.00 a bag, you're looking at close to $200.00 in water bags to equal the weight of one traditional 25lb sandbag. The quality of the bag seems well made.

a sandbag with no weight

Its a perfect addition to my kit, I ordered just 1 piece to see if its really functional and loved it, already made an order for more of these

Great, but slightly overpriced.

Not sure why people rate 2/3 stars. They knew the price and specs before they placed the order. I agree these are are slightly overpriced. I would be comfortable to pay $30/bag, but I have to say they are very well made. I would probably redesigned the actual plastic bag for water water, but its okay. They help a lot and save a lot of time.
