Built amazing. Crisp clean edges. Better quality than Matthews actually. The newest version of this box set is the exact size of the Mathews apple box BTW. I've read comments about the size being off from normal sized apple boxes. Not the case. It's the same. Fantastic for location work. Very pleased.

Works good in a pinch or in a small setting. It also travels better than other options, though it is pretty heavy with all that wood nested together). I wouldn't recommend as a main studio option though - get a full-size box set for that. A nice touch: The edges and corners are rounded a little so you don't get snags or splinters ... Kudos, Kupo ;)

The Kupo nested boxes are amazing. Also, unlike others who have the magnetic panel, mine is a sliding style panel which is super secure and very easy to grab by the handhold cutouts. Must be a revision? Also, the outer full Apple box matches perfectly with my Matthew full apples so I'm very happy with them.

I've always wanted apple boxes, but couldn't really justify the amount of space they take up in the van. Here's the solution to *that* problem! To be fair, when they are all packed together they aren't very light, but that is the *only* downside. Sturdy, well made, good wood. What else to you need?

Yes they are the same size as standard apples... but, the ones inside (the nested ones) are a little shorter length wise. This is so they fit in the Full Apple. Otherwise they are standard to the vertical dimensions.

Can I purchase just the full Apple box with slide lid? Need it to stash sound accessories. Ordered the Kupo full and of course it doesn’t have the articulating top. As a mixer would love to have this addition to my cart without all the pancakes and whatnot.

Has anyone tried staining (not painting) these? How does it take to stain? Does it show any grain? I'd like to make them a dark wood color.
I have not stained them but they are raw birch plywood so you could search for what that would look like stained. They would take it easily. Birch has pretty minimal grain.
