5-Channel Discrete Amplifier

Featuring discrete power output devices on all channels, the AVR-S540BT is designed to deliver high power and is rated up to 70 watts per channel. For compatibility with a variety of speakers, the AVR-S540BT is equipped with low-impedance drive capability.

HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 Specifications

All five HDMI inputs support 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, BT.2020 pass-through, 3D, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma); full 4K Ultra HD with 60 Hz pass-through and HDCP 2.2 processing is available on three HDMI ports to support copy-protected content.

Smart TV Connectivity

Control the Denon AVR-S540BT with your compatible smart TV remote via the HDMI CEC functionality associated with your smart TV. Simply set "HDMI Control" to "On" in the receiver, then set "Smart Menu" to "On" and begin controlling the receiver with your TV remote. The Smart Menu home screen provides you quick access to source and surround mode selections, the receiver's setup menu, and four Smart Selects.

Built-In Bluetooth

Thanks to built-in Bluetooth, you can stream your music from any compatible Bluetooth phone, tablet, or computer. Simply select the AVR-S540BT from your device's Bluetooth menu to turn on the receiver and start playing your music. The receiver can remember up to eight paired Bluetooth devices, so family and friends can listen to their favorite tracks.

Mobile Control with the Denon AVR Remote App

The Denon 500 Series Remote app for iOS and Android allows you to adjust volume, turn the receiver on or off, mute the music, and select a source.

Quick Select Functions for Simplified Audio Tuning

The front panel features four Quick Select buttons that store your preferred audio settings for each source. Switch between TV audio, Blu-ray, media players, and more – and the receiver adjusts the EQ settings to your preferences for that media source. Use the buttons on the front panel or opt for the same Quick Selects on the remote for faster control.

Front-Panel USB Connectivity

In addition to numerous analog and digital A/V connectors, the AVR-S540BT features a USB port on the front panel that's compatible with portable USB devices, and can play back a range of audio file types including MP3, WMA, FLAC, and MPEG-4/AAC tracks.

Though the AVR-S540BT has a front Headphone Jack, unfortunately Receivers in general are only able to receive a Bluetooth Signal for playback purposes. Unfortunately they do not have the ability to transmit a BT signal to a set of BT headphones.

I have an older Bose single cube (x2) speaker system with passive subwoofer. The sub has L&R inputs (from amplifier) and L&R outputs (to speakers). Can I use this Denon amplifier (L&R speaker outputs) to power this Bose system?

This receiver has 70 watts of power per side at 8 ohms. I do not know the exact requirements of your speakers, but if they can operate on 70 watts, it should be fine.

There is no pre-programmed 3.1 channel mode.There is a 2.1 mode and its output is still about 70 watts per channel at 8 ohms.

This receiver cannot be configured in the same way as your Adcom. It does not have separate preamplifier inputs and outputs.
