  • Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head

The Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head provides reliable support for DSLRs, point-and-shoot cameras or video cameras 13.2 lb.

The tripod's four-section legs are fabricated from high tensile strength aluminum. It rises to a maximum height of 67.2" with the center column fully extended and folds down to a compact 23.1" for transport. Flip locks on the legs facilitate rapid setup and break down. Three leg angles: normal (80°), low (55°) and extra low (24°) are available via angle adjustment tabs at the joint of each leg. You can reverse the column with a twist of the butterfly knob or split it in two and use the short column for macro and low angle shooting as low as 8.9" from the ground. Any combination of leg angles can be combined to accommodate uneven terrain, stairs or obstructions. A built-in bubble level helps you square up your compositions. For extra stability the center column employs a spring-loaded counterbalance hook.

The included BA-113 ball head features a single-action knob that controls its rotation and 360 degree panning while a robust ball-locking mechanism secures it solidly. The head's four bubble levels ensure accurate panoramas. The BA-113's built-in quick release comes with a camera plate that features a standard 1/4"-20 screw and a retractable, removable video pin to provide additional stability for camcorders. Since the head is removable, locking screws underneath the collar thwart torsion when re-attaching. The tripod comes with a carry case and shoulder strap for storage and transport.

A spring-loaded counterweight hook is located at the bottom of the center column. The column can be separated into 2 parts to give you a short column for low angle and macro work
Leg cushions on 2 legs provide a firm grip in cold or wet weather
Two included hex keys attach to a tripod leg, so you're always ready to tighten components
Padded carry bag provides a snug fit for the tripod/head combination and features two heavy-duty zippers, an interior pocket with a zipper, and a shoulder strap
Angle adjustment locks keep legs at the chosen angles
Center column is grooved to prevent rotation
Angled rubber feet for maximum contact with the ground
Tripod features reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw to fit almost any head

Samyang 14mm f/2.8 reviews

14mm Ultra Wide-Angle f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens for Nikon with Focus Confirm Chip is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sharp lens at a great price! I was a bit skeptical about this lens given the low price. But I have seen a number of excellent reviews (as well as a few poor ones) and thought I would take a chance. I have been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this lens. In tests against my Nikkor 16-35mm zoom at 16mm, this Samyang 14mm is substantially sharper from the center all the way out to the extreme corners. I am using it on a Nikon D800E that really shows lens flaws, and this lens holds up amazing well. There are some distortion issues to deal with. But for landscape work, stopped down a few stops, I think you'll find this lens to be a winner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The wide angle most economical on the market! Since this is an economical solution, this lens is the best value on the market! It is important to remember that it is suitable for more experienced users because it is a fully manual lens, so it requires the knowledge to infinity focus or distncioa hyperfocal. Its use is always indicated on cameras in use together with tripod, to ensure good stability, widely used to capture landscapes in night shots, and with an acceptable distortion when properly centered, has an excellent open at f / 2.8, the conseguesse best performance in sharpness between f / 8 to f / 16. For the more experienced and who do not want to make use to pay a high price in a wide angle, I recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have I'm absolutely in love with this lens. It has really gotten me back in touch with my landscape side of photography. I will admit there's a little distortion around the edges but I somewhat expected that due to the asphericale shape. I actually have become accustomed to the distortion because for some things it sees a different perspective of the subject and gives a more creative picture. I highly recommend this item to people who love landscape photography as well as low light or night time photography. I'll admit for an ameateur I've gotten some amazing star pictures.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be Careful I bought this lens for use with a Nikon D700. I wanted something that would serve as a very wide lens on a full-frame camera but wasn't a fisheye, and this lens fills the bill very well. It does have some barrel distortion that probably won't be very noticeable as long as you don't take pictures of checkerboards or brick walls. The thing that surprised me was the amount of perspective distortion I got with this lens. Just a very slight tilt of the lens will produce drastic convergence or divergence of vertical lines, so be aware. If you expect it and are comfortable with it, you can get some pretty wild and crazy effects with this lens. It doesn't autofocus, but with a lens this short that doesn't matter very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exelent for the price The lens is well made, small, light and cheap. It has a strong distortion that is correctable. At f2.8 it give a haze in the image if you shoot in daylight, ans is a little soft. At f4 everything is crisp, on par with the Nikon 14-24mm $$beast.Manual focus is good but it needs you to get a hang of it since the ring is not accurate. The version with the focus confirmation chip for Nikon bodies works great.Great for astrophotography.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from impressive *at this price. I shoot architecture with a tripod at f10-f14. The good- I wish all new lenses were built like this. Coloring and sharpness is lovely. The bad- Distortion creeps in on occasion and is hard to fix quickly. This is not my main lens for architecture but I am a fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money I use it for landscape photography and it's giving me excellent results so far. Very nice angle (a bit of moustache effect but nothing you cannot fix with Light Room). I like the manual focus feel as it reminds me the old days. Feels robust and looks great on my Nikon D800. The Focus confirm is a great feature to ensure sharpness. This lens represents excellent value for money for a super-wide lens. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent images, breathless coverage! I have both a Nikon APS-C and a full frame. It's wide on the APS-C, but the moment you put it on a full frame, it's as if another room opened up. I've always wanted a Minolta Rokkor 17mm Rectilinear ever since I was a teen, so this is a perfect catch for that one that got away. The focus chip is a must. Although not very effective, given the wide angle, on an APS-C, it is more accurate and sensitive with a full frame and higher grade electronics. Ken Rockwell has said this is not a very sharp lens. Obviously it can stand up to something 3-4 times the price, but it comes pretty darn close, once you stop down. I stuck with Samyang, although I could have gone with Bower, Pro-Optic, or Rokinon. For 20 dollars or so more, you are getting it straight from the manufacturer. I wouldn't risk it just to save a few bucks.
