  • Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head

The Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head provides reliable support for DSLRs, point-and-shoot cameras or video cameras 13.2 lb.

The tripod's four-section legs are fabricated from high tensile strength aluminum. It rises to a maximum height of 67.2" with the center column fully extended and folds down to a compact 23.1" for transport. Flip locks on the legs facilitate rapid setup and break down. Three leg angles: normal (80°), low (55°) and extra low (24°) are available via angle adjustment tabs at the joint of each leg. You can reverse the column with a twist of the butterfly knob or split it in two and use the short column for macro and low angle shooting as low as 8.9" from the ground. Any combination of leg angles can be combined to accommodate uneven terrain, stairs or obstructions. A built-in bubble level helps you square up your compositions. For extra stability the center column employs a spring-loaded counterbalance hook.

The included BA-113 ball head features a single-action knob that controls its rotation and 360 degree panning while a robust ball-locking mechanism secures it solidly. The head's four bubble levels ensure accurate panoramas. The BA-113's built-in quick release comes with a camera plate that features a standard 1/4"-20 screw and a retractable, removable video pin to provide additional stability for camcorders. Since the head is removable, locking screws underneath the collar thwart torsion when re-attaching. The tripod comes with a carry case and shoulder strap for storage and transport.

A spring-loaded counterweight hook is located at the bottom of the center column. The column can be separated into 2 parts to give you a short column for low angle and macro work
Leg cushions on 2 legs provide a firm grip in cold or wet weather
Two included hex keys attach to a tripod leg, so you're always ready to tighten components
Padded carry bag provides a snug fit for the tripod/head combination and features two heavy-duty zippers, an interior pocket with a zipper, and a shoulder strap
Angle adjustment locks keep legs at the chosen angles
Center column is grooved to prevent rotation
Angled rubber feet for maximum contact with the ground
Tripod features reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw to fit almost any head

Samyang 14mm f/2.8 reviews

14mm Ultra Wide-Angle f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens for Canon EF Mount is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 122.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Optics Taking test shots to callibrate the focus ring with actual distances helps make this lens a true jewel in my lens arsenal. I've only used it for landscape and HD movies to far and the results have been very good. I'm amazed at the optical clarity using it on my T3i (APS-C). I have used the screen to focus and also use the ring for quicker shots. On a fairly sunny day and manually set at F5.6 in Av mode, everything is clear with the focus ring set at 10 ft. I often use 3 ft and F2.8 indoors without any worries. I highly recommend this lens if you are comfortable with manual focus. I'm very glad I didn't spend more on an automatic focus lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Opening up new opportunities Prior to this lens I was using 24mm on the wide end of things. This 14mm 2.8 lens just opens up so much more creativity for me....and the price is outstanding. I have nothing but praise for this lens. Solid build, solid feel, great images, fun to use. The distance scale on the lens is useless. I use the live-view setting to set focus. That would be the only negative thing I will say about this lens. That is also why I can't give it 5 stars. Remember, this is manual aperture and no autofocus, so look elsewhere if you need in-camera aperture setting and autofocus. However for the price and the new doors it opens you cannot go wrong with this lens!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoroughly excellent wide angle lens for many camera bodies I purchased the lens for astrophotography, but it does landscapes very well also. Knowing that it is a manual focus lens I prepared to test the focus and tape lock the focus in place for night photography. I set the lens on f/2.8 has f/22-f/2.8 capability and it already had sharp focus. It is sharp both at the edges of the frame as well as the center. Disadvantage for me: it is made of heavy Korean steel, but on the flip side it seems indestructible and who cares since it sits on a tripod for night photography. You can choose the same lens with a different mount for a variety of cameras. both APS-C and full frame. Fisheye + hood

Rated 4 out of 5 by from samyang ultrawide- really is ultrawide This lens is crazily wide- aspherical works as long as nothing is too close. objects at the edges get quite distorted. Seems quite crisp- which is why I like it. For landscape work, say out in the grand canyon, awesome. but for more urban landscapes, it seems one would crop the edges, so why go so wide? If you need absolutely the widest field of view go for it. for the price you cannot beat it. but it does feel plasticky, and I have not tested it yet in more extreme environments, such as early dawn condensation problems. vignetting might be an issue for more discerning eyes as well... none the less for less than 400 bucks, a good lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens - Great Value using this with my 5D and my BMPCC and its great for both - love the super wide on the 5D - there is some image distortion obviously at this wide of a lens - but I really like the look it gives. And its pretty sharp. Definitely a great value - the aperture has clicks - which is not ideal for video but not a big deal. Also it is a 5 or 6 blade aperture (if you care about that) - fun to play with for a different look on the full frame Only con is the minimum focal distance isnt very close - not really a big deal on the full frame - but I would like to be able to focus closer on a crop sensor - but again at this price point it isnt going to be your only lens

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lens for the price I was looking around for a great wide angle lens to use, and decided to give this a try. I like it, it has a nice sturdy feeling to it. I use it a lot for landscape shots and just walking around town. It would have been nice for an auto focus feature though when I want to snap a quick picture. Sometimes when I think its focused the picture is still a little fuzzy. The focusing thing is just a matter of practice though. I used to shot manual all the time, but I have been lazy since using auto focus features. But in short, it is a nice inexpensive lens without that cheap feel. This is great for landscape pictures, or when you're shooting in a cramped area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great w/a lens - value for money Considering the price, this lens is a real gem in my opinion. This is the second example of this 14 mm w/a lens from the Korean producer, the previous one was sold under the Rokinon brand, yet those lenses are identical. Both my lenses have been used on full frame DSLR cameras, the 5D MkII an now 5D MkIII, and my evaluation is purely based on its properties when used on FF cameras. Those who like w/a lenses and the effect they can give must like this lens. One has to be aware that this lens does not autofocus, nor does it communicate with the camera in any other way. Both focusing and setting the aperture have to be done manually, the latter by turning an aperture setting ring on the lens.. The most obvious camera setting is thus AV, and the camera will set the correct exposure according to the aperture setting. Everything is manual, and for the inexperienced, this can bebe a problem. However, getting everything in focus when shooting landscape in bright light is almost a no brainer; opting for f/11 and a focus distance of 2 meters brings everything in focus from 0,8 meters to infinity. Focusing on near subjects with the lens wide open can be tricky through the viewfinder, and is best done using Live view, if the camera has got that option. This lens is sharp from corner to corner, and C/A is no more apparent than on more expensive lenses. W/A or perspective distortion is as should be expected with a lens that wide. A trademark for this lens is a rather nasty phenomenon, moustache distortion, not so much a problem in landscape photography, but a real party spoiler when shooting buildings and structures. This effect can be overcome when processing raw files in PS or LR by using a special lens correction profile for this lens. The profile does not work for cameras with APC sensors.Color rendition is generally good, the lens has its own character in this respect, and it takes a bit of practice in PPS to get the most out of it.Having gone through the initial learning curve, this lens is a real joy to use, and opens some exciting opportunities for creative photography. It will deliver fine results when in hands of a photographer that really knows how to work with w/a lenses, and who can master the old trade of operating a fully manual lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lens for astrophotography!! There are three reasons why I love this lens: Cheap, wide and sharp! :) If you want a fast and super wide lens you should definitely get this piece of glass. Although the vignetting and distortion is massive, this lens is great. I would have given it 5 stars if the distortion wasn't that noticeable.
