Nokia Nokia 6.1 overview

  • 1Description

Capture the full story with the Nokia 6.1 (2018) 32GB Smartphone. Carved from a single block of aluminum, the Nokia 6.1 features diamond-cut edges, a durable Series 6000 unibody construction, and attractive two-tone anodizing. The frame's rugged nature is joined by a damage-resistant Gorilla Glass 3. The Gorilla Glass protects a 5.5" IPS Full HD 1920 x 1080 display, with a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio.

The Nokia 6.1 also features a 16MP, fast-focusing PDAF rear camera with high-quality ZEISS optics, as well as an 8MP front-facing camera. The unique Dual-Sight mode lets you capture all the action by using both the rear and front cameras simultaneously. This results in a split-screen video that you can share via Facebook Live or YouTube Live, all within the camera app. For your standard movies, the Nokia 6.1 supports a stunning, 4K Ultra HD video resolution.

Running the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, this phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 2.2 GHz Octa-core processor, and 3GB of LPDDR 4 RAM. You can store your apps and split-screen masterpieces on 32GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via an (optional) microSD card for an additional 128GB of capacity. Note that in order to use a microSD card, you must sacrifice the second SIM slot to do so.

This phone is unlocked and compatible with GSM/4G LTE networks. Connect to the internet and other devices with built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The Nokia 6.1 (2018) also supports NFC technology for making phone-to-phone data transfers or mobile payments.

With the touch of the Home button, continue to work in apps while watching active videos in Picture-in-Picture mode. Other features include, faster boot speed, automatically turning on Wi-Fi when near saved networks, limiting background activity for little used apps, notification snoozing, smart text selection, and more.

Nokia Nokia 6.1 reviews

6.1 (2018) 32GB Smartphone (Unlocked, White/Iron) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice phone for the price I'm fairly new with smart phones, and this is the first Android phone I have ever used so there was a learning curve for me. Overall the phone is very good. Two things I learned in getting acquainted : 1. This version of Android (8) does not let you move Apps to the SD card as in previous versions, only photos and media. The user's guide still says you can, but customer service told me different. I was very disappointed to learn this. I guess if you have too many Apps for the internal memory you just have to delete some. 2. Once you format the SD card in the phone you can no longer use it anywhere else...why? My PC could not reformat it. The phone OS is fast, and the camera is excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nokia 6l.1 (2018) Was looking for a good Android phone to replace my older LG. This one had some great features that drew me to it! However, I wish I could've gotten the 4G, 64G, seems the 3G, 32G, version is the only one that has the American bands? I DO love this phone, though; it has been wonderful to start using and is very user friendly, to me!! I love the 16 mp camera and it makes me able to take some great pictures already! (Another reason I got the phone was for the camera with the Ziess optics) I understand that Nokia will making some more phones, probably with better options, BUT I do recommend this phone; it works excellent, for me, so far........

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better for the price If you are like me and value a clean and updated version of Android above almost all else, this is your best bet unless you want to spend 2-3x as much for a Pixel. Really the only Android One phone in the US that works with all of TMO/ATT bands. The phone is solid, has a nice screen, good battery life, and the latest Android updates. Only complaint is the average camera that is slow to focus and soft/noisy in low light (although it still handles HDR better than most phones). I was using a GS9 for the last few months before moving to this phone and have zero regrets. Side note - this is the Latin America version, which is identical to the US version other than the color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is a good phone for the price. This is my first android phone. I used to have a Lumia 640 before buying this phone. Even though I miss the windows 10 mobile interface, the android interface is not that bad. This phone has average features. The camera is good. The quality of the pictures are good. I have used this phone for more than one month, and I have not had any issues with it. I like that this phone comes with stock android. One thing that I do not like about android 8.1 is that you cannot save apps in the SD card. The SD card can only be used for pictures and music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid phone Does everything I need it to do for WAY less than any of the "flagship" smartphones. Coming from WP10/Lumia 950, the pain on switching to Android wasn't too bad, particularly after I found a launcher that largely replicates the WP10 Metro UI. I haven't used the camera much, but it is perfectly adequate for a smartphone camera. Battery life has been good so far - I get at 1-2 days between charges (I'm not a heavy user - mostly email/text/phone with a little web browsing, video/podcast streaming and light casual gaming). Screen is good and the fingerprint sensor works well. Would be nice if it were more water/dust resistant, but that's probably asking too much at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice phone, especially for the price Very impressed so far with my Nokia 6.1 phone. Solid build, good performance, and the battery lasts through the day. Only issue I have noticed is that the camera can lag a little between shots. 85% of a top of the line phone for a third of the price - and good enough for most people. 4 stars overall, but 5 considering the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing phone! Lives up to the hype! This phone is just perfect for me. The build quality is top notch and feels like a high-end premium phone. It's got a nice weight to it and feels great when held unlike what some have said about its edges. It's "slim" but that's subjective and based mostly on what phone you have been using. The camera is decent. Android One is NOICE. Android 8.1 was installed out of the box. The included headphones and phone's sound are average (only con I found so far). The phone is fast and responsive with no lag or stuttering. My family has a Moto G5 Plus and a Moto G5S Plus and that's what I'm basing my comparison on (both were/are in the top mid-range phone category). If you haven't decided on this phone yet, I'd say the strongest pros for this phone are the regular updates that you'll be getting, the superb (tank-like) phone build quality, and a decent camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE! This phone has all the right stuff. It has all the LTE bands we need for travel to EU. Dual sim capability is a big plus. Nice build quality, display is pretty nice and performance is good for everyday. Seems to run battery hogging Pokemon Go pretty reasonably.
