Manfrotto LW-88W-2 V2 Reviews
Pretty good
Coming from the ThinkTank Logistics Manager 40, this is nowhere near as good. Much cheaper feeling, and less protective on the outside. But as someone who flies with small interview light kits often, having a case like this, that fits a good amount of gear, and is within most airlines checked bag size limits (63), and does a pretty good job of keeping the gear safe with the velcro compartments, I'd say it's pretty good. For me this fits 2x small benro tripods, 2x small light stands, 2x Amaran 200X, a 24/36 road rags kit, a grip head, some stingers, a small 5-in-1 reflector and a few other things, and is still under 50LBS, so only costs ~$40 to fly with.
Fix the zipper and it's 5 stars
This is my fourth Manfrotto Pro-Light Rolling case. It's almost the perfect travel case for me. It extremely lightweight and fits in the trunk of any car. The semi-rigid exterior and well padded interior protects all your gear. This new V2 version has rigid plastic runners that run the entire length of the bottom of the case - a nice addition. Unfortunately the main zipper is junk. I just took this new V2 version on it's first out of town assignment and after just one plane flight the thread that attaches the zipper is already fraying at the corners of the case. And after about a year the zipper will fail and become detached from the corners. If Manfrotto used a high quality zipper on this case it would be one of the best cases on the market and I would be singing its praises from the rooftops.
