Really Right Stuff TVC-34 Overview

The TVC-34 Versa Series 3 Mk2 from Really Right Stuff is a mid-weight carbon fiber tripod designed for use in both the field and studio.

Constructed from Really Right Stuff's patented carbon fiber weave, the TVC-34 weighs in at 4.4 lb and can safely support up to 50 lb. It's 4-section leg design allows the tripod to extend to a maximum height of 58.5" and lower down to a minimum working height of just 3.8".

Quick set-up and break-down is facilitated by easy-to-use twist locks, which require just a quarter rotation to unlock and re-lock each leg section. This design also helps to maintain the tripod's slim folded silhouette. Additionally, when traveling with or storing the tripod, the entire support can fold down to just 21.1" in length, small enough to travel or hike with.

Each leg is attached to the tripod's collar via an offset leg joint that helps to evenly distribute heavy loads and maintain the tripod's rigidity. The joints and collar are constructed of lightweight anodized aluminum which, aside from lending inherent strength to the tripod, also provides it with natural wear and corrosion resistance. Each one of the three leg joints also feature a variable angle stop that automatically locks into place as the legs are folded downward into "standard" position.

The TVC-34's feet are a unique teardrop shape that prevents the leg sections from touching the ground at even the lowest height settings and the most unusual angles. Their rubber exterior provides a non-slip grip on nearly any surface and can be used both indoors and outdoors without concern. For users wishing to change the native rubber feet to metal "all-terrain" spikes, a set of metal spikes are available separately.

It's 4-section leg design allows the tripod to extend to a maximum height of 58.5", lower down to a minimum working height of 3.8", and with a folded length of 21.1"

Would the gitzo series 3 center column work on this tripod? I like the gitzo option better because it's CF/magnesium.
Asked by: Russell
The Gitzo columns are not compatible with the RRS tripods. The Really Right Stuff TVC-34 Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod can only use the RRS TA-3-QC which is sold directly by RRS: https://bhpho.to/40gSPY6

The TFC-34 has different load capacities ...

The TFC-34 has different load capacities depending on the leg positions. I that also the case for the TVC-34?
Asked by: Brian
Unlike the Really Right Stuff TFC-34 MK2 Series3 Ultralight Carbon Fiber Tripod (58.3"), B&H # RETFC34M2V2, the Really Right Stuff TVC-34 Versa Series 3 Mk2 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not have specified load capacities for each leg section. It's important to note that the stability and payload capacity may decrease when the thinner section is fully extended. The environment and surface the tripod is being used in may also affect the tripod. The overall payload for the TVC-34 is up to 50lb.

question

Would this be tall enough for someone 61? Id go for the L but like being able to put it in carry-on luggage.
Asked by: Rustin
I am just over 6 feet and find the 34L perfect for me, but unless your carry-on is huge, it likely won't fit as the tripod alone (no head) is every bit of 24 inches long. You'd be better off carrying it separately, or pairing it with a true travel tripod.
