Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Overview

The TVC-34L Versa Series 3 Mk2 from Really Right Stuff is a mid-weight carbon fiber tripod designed for use in both the field and studio.

Constructed from Really Right Stuff's patented carbon fiber weave, the TVC-34L weighs in at 4.7 lb and can safely support up to 50 lb. It's 4-section leg design allows the tripod to extend to a maximum height of 68.8" and lower down to a minimum working height of just 4".

Quick set-up and break-down is facilitated by easy-to-use twist locks, which require just a quarter rotation to unlock and re-lock each leg section. This design also helps to maintain the tripod's slim folded silhouette. Additionally, when traveling with or storing the tripod, the entire support can fold down to just 24.4" in length, small enough to travel or hike with.

Each leg is attached to the tripod's collar via an offset leg joint that helps to evenly distribute heavy loads and maintain the tripod's rigidity. The joints and collar are constructed of lightweight anodized aluminum which, aside from lending inherent strength to the tripod, also provides it with natural wear and corrosion resistance. Each one of the three leg joints also feature a variable angle stop that automatically locks into place as the legs are folded downward into "standard" position.

The TVC-34L's feet are a unique teardrop shape that prevents the leg sections from touching the ground at even the lowest height settings and the most unusual angles. Their rubber exterior provides a non-slip grip on nearly any surface and can be used both indoors and outdoors without concern. For users wishing to change the native rubber feet to metal "all-terrain" spikes, a set of metal spikes are available separately.

It's 4-section leg design allows the tripod to extend to a maximum height of 68.8", lower down to a minimum working height of 4", and with a folded length of 24.4"

I'm curious of any recommendations for a tripod ...

I'm curious of any recommendations for a tripod that can be used both for photography purposes, but also have the ability to mount a motorized astrophotography tracking head to it at a later time? Id rather splurge on the tripod, being I'd use it for both. Id like it to be backwards compatible with either / or, multiple types of head options (basically be as future proof as it could be). Any advice would be really appreciated! Budget, midrange, and top of the line suggestions would be awesome! Id end up buying a higher end ($1000-ish) tracking head. Willing to hear what else you all suggest! Thanks
Asked by: Brennan
Regardless of how much you are willing to spend, make sure that the tripod you are looking at can carry the weight. Add up the weight of your camera, lens, tripod head, and any other gear that will be attached to the tripod. Then select your tripod legs on the basis of how much weight they will support. Then look at Alm. VS Carbon Fiber.

What is an equivalent tripod of quality to the ...

What is an equivalent tripod of quality to the TVC34L as RRS are clearly having supply chain issues?
Asked by: Barry
Good morning. If you can't get a RRS the only other tripod I would consider is a Gitzo. I just checked the site and the only one that I would consider is the Gitzo Mountaineer series 3, LONG. I would pull the center Column out and store it foe resale, but then Gitzo use to offer the model with out the center column. Ask the guys at B&H. Hope that helps. hwb
