7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Reviews

Enjoyable Lens, Good Value

Don't even try to compare this fast aperture lens to far more expensive brands, it won't compete. However, used correctly this lens will return great results. Wide open, it's sharp enough at center but does display a curvature moving away from center but it's not bad. I've seen worse with high cost lenses. Focusing this manual lens is no problem for me, and I usually fine focus by just moving the camera back and forth slowly until I achieve focus. Could it be better, sure, but that would only make the lens both bigger and more costly. Used with my EF-M mount system, I recommend this lens.

For the money,it cant be beat !

Im basing this review on what I use the lens for - tabletop still lifes. For that purpose its outstanding as it allows for control over DOF and produces beautiful bokeh. If sharpness is important, youll need to stop down to 2.8 or 3.5. Colors are great. Oh yeah, its made for APS sensor cameras (EF-S) and is the only 35mm f/1.2 lens I know of.

Perfect for Blurred Background

This was perfect for getting that blurred background contrast from the subject. I recorded videos on my Canon EOS M50 and this gave me the exact look I was going for. Would recommend.

Good for the money

It's a manual lens, zero electronics. The camera reports f00. Exposure works fine and with MF peaking it's pretty easy to focus. Great DOF with such a fast lens. On the M50 I had to go to custom settings to set the lens release mode, to work with the lens. Once that was done it worked great

Could this work with a metabones speedbooster T XL? EF to MFT
Asked by: Enrique
The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF-M will not work with a Metabones T Speed booster lens adapter because the canon lens needs to be closer to the sensor than the MFT lens for it to focus. Canon EF-M flange distance is 18mm and the MFT flange distance is 19.25mm.

Just branding speak, the lens is manual focus and manual aperture only, nothing electric everything photo.
