Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Noctrnus overview

  • 1Description

An incredibly fast short telephoto prime, the silver, Leica M-mount Nocturnus 75mm f/0.95 from Meyer-Optik Gorlitz is a unique lens mixing impressive speed with a flattering field of view. Well-suited for portraiture, the f/0.95 maximum aperture allows you to work with extremely shallow depth of field for isolating subjects, and a 15-blade diaphragm also contributes a pleasing, rounded bokeh quality. The five elements, five groups optical design uses coated Schott glass to produce vivid sharpness and color rendering in a variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens has a manual focus design for working with subjects as close as 3' away and its manual aperture ring is de-clicked for smooth, silent aperture adjustment.

Portrait-length prime is designed for full-frame and 35mm Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras. This lens will not couple to the rangefinder focusing system on Leica M-type cameras; manual focusing must be done using live view or zone focusing techniques.
Exceptionally bright f/0.95 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and also allows for control over depth of field for isolating subject matter using selective focus.
The five elements, five groups optical design achieves impressive sharpness and clarity.
Coated Schott glass is used for high clarity and contrast, as well as reduced lens flare and ghosting.
Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 3' away.
De-clicked manual aperture ring provides smooth, silent iris transitions to suit video use.
Fifteen diaphragm blades help produce an artistic and distinctly circular bokeh quality.
