Compact wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 36mm equivalent focal length.
Maximum f/2.8 aperture helps to achieve the slim, portable form factor while also remaining versatile for use in a variety of lighting conditions.
Three aspherical elements and two high refractive index elements help control spherical aberrations and distortions for improved sharpness, resolution, and clarity.
An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements in order to reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast and a neutral color balance.
The integrated autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony cameras' focusing systems for quick, accurate, and precise AF control. Manual focus override is also available for refining your focus position.
Internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length and prevents the front of the lens from rotating during use.
Seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
Included lens hood helps to block stray light from causing flare and ghosting.

What is the outer diameter of this lens? I want to purchase a push-on lens cap (such as MFR #91-030379).
Asked by: John
Other answer is correct, the hood has flanges to allow for a hood, a push on cap would not work, you would need to get the cap for the hood. The hood is about 2.5", you would need to try a push on cap from 62mm-67mm.

question

Will this work on Sony A6500 and if so what would it be? Like not 24mm but ??
Asked by: Kim
a6500 has a 1.5x crop factor, so this is the full frame equivilant of 36mm. It should work on the camera as it shares the same mount, however without testing it's hard to say. I would give it a 95% chance of working.

question

Will this lens be good for astrophotography?
Asked by: Janet
24mm provides a wide angle of view that is great for astrophotography on a full frame sensor. If your camera has an APS-C sized sensor the lens will have a an angle of view equivalent to 36mm, which is still usable but personally I prefer something wider for landscapes or astrophotography.
