The compact SLR Magic Anamorphot-65 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter is designed to work with lenses with a front element size of up to 65mm in diameter. This 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter sports a rear thread size of 82mm and features an internal focus design. The Anamorphot-65 has a minimum close focus of four feet and can accept 112mm threaded filters and diopters.

The Anamorphot-65 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter is optimized to work with the Fujinon MK zoom range and is also compatible with 82mm-threaded SLR Magic MicroPrimes. Unlike a cropped "anamorphic" image obtained with a spherical lens, this adapter enables you to utilize the total area of your camera's sensor.

Uses Entire Sensor
This anamorphic lens adapter enables you to capture your image using your entire sensor, so there is no loss in resolution when compared with cropping your image.
Sensor Compatibility
The Anamorphot-65 1.33x supports MFT and APS-C format sensors with focal lengths of at least 20mm (MFT) and 35mm (APS-C), and full-frame format sensors with focal lengths larger than 50mm.
Front Anamorphic Adapter
The Anamorphot-65 1.33x screws onto your lens's front, providing the classic anamorphic effect for lenses with a front element of up to 65mm.
4' Close Focus
The Anamorphot-65 1.33x focuses down to a minimum of four feet.
112mm Filter Thread
It features a 112mm filter thread so you can attach optional filters or diopters.

Anamorphot 65 Adds Versatility To Meike T2.2 Cine Lenses

By Edward

As an owner of a set of Meike T2.2 Cine Lenses - 12,16,25,35 and 50mm, I was interested in how SLR Magic's Anamorphot 65 might expand these lenses versatility. Both the 12 and 16mm Meike resulted in a massive vignette, rendering the image useless. However, the 25, 35 and 50mm Meike resulted in a fully usable 2.35 scaled image for each lens, when paired with the Anamorphot 65. An attached photo show the Anamorphot 65 with the Meike 50mm T2.2, mounted on a BMPCC4K. The weight of the Meike lenses plus the Anamorphot 65 requires shifting the tripod attachment point from the BMPCC4K to a point more central to the two lenses. The other (screen capture) photo shows the BMPCC4K - 50mm lens images - Meike 50mm native image, 50mm with Anamorphot squeeze and Anamorphoto desqueeze. DaVinci Resolve was used for the desqueeze. A Resolve default setting of 1.33 resulted in a circular plate image at 15 feet. This setting seemed to be appropriate for all lenses evaluated - 25, 35 and 50mm.

An answer to my original question about the Nikon P1000

So months ago I asked if the Anamorphot-65 could be used with my Nikon P1000 and I was told no, it won't work on telescoping lenses. Well today after returning my BMPCC 4K to exchange for a BMPCC 6K I was left with nothing to do but test out the Anamorphot-65 on my Nikon P1000, figuring the shorter focal lengths you'd see inside the barrel which of course you did. However once you reached a focal length of 55mm and 85mm the images would be usable with some slight cropping. At 105mm no cropping at all. This will be a useful lens setup for me while out at NASA filming rocket launches at Kennedy Space Center. I'm looking forward to what it can do. It will primarily be used with the BMPCC 4K with my Rokinon Cine DS lenses but I'm definitely taking the Anamorphot-65 to NASA from now on. The man caveat is the weight of the adapter will need to be supported in some form either by rods or a light stand etc.

Very Nice, Could Use Some Dampening

Received this priority overnight for a feature film promo shoot yesterday and immediately put it to work with my BMPCC 4K camera and Rokinon 24mm Cine DS EF mount lens with FotodioX EF to MFT adapter. I was expecting more vignetting, chromatic shift and blurring at the edges of the picture, but this set up is really forgiving. I didn't have a tape measure to set focus on the Anamorphot precisely and estimated the distance to my subjects. The camera, lens and adapter in combination I found to be very forgiving and the imagery I got really looks like classic film. The only slightly disappointing part of this adapter is there's no dampening to the focus and feels like you're focusing sandpaper. Would be nice if the lens focus had some form of dampening to smooth things out. I am thinking a motorized and synced two motor follow focus set up will help make that less of an issue.

Pretty good product

Quality build and not cheap plastic, which surprised me. It works as advertised. Used it on my 70-200mm canon lens and it worked fine. You'll need a rail system, a sturdy step up ring preferably a brass one, and a lens support bracket to handle the weight. However with that extra weight your camera panning will be smoother.

Love this Anamorphic Adapter

This is the most cost effective way for me to get into Anamorphic shooting. Using this with Rokinon Cine DS taking lenses and a BMPCC 6K camera is heavenly. Unfortunately it doesn't come with cine gears in this model and the focus could use some dampening and smoothing but otherwise I love this whole setup.

Unexpected problems!

So, I ordered this 1.33x-65 adapter along with SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine 35mm T1.3 and I was shocked to find the following problems, which render the setup useless in most situations! First of all, I am using the setup with my Sony A7S II, and in full frame mode, I get very nasty lens vignette ( See attached screenshot) The only way to remove the bad vignette is to use the camera in crop mode. No such information is mentioned in B&H or in SLR Magic website! Secondly, I never got the standard 1.33x anamorphic ratio as promised by SLR Magic (see screenshot: 1.33 De-Squeez). From the screenshot, you can see very clearly that the circular objects such as the lens is not a perfect circle as it supposed to be after applying the 1.33 de-squeez. In fact, in order to get a correct aspect ratio, you need to apply a de-squeez ratio of 1.227 (see screenshot: 1.227 de-squeez) and this is not a standard ratio! I contacted SLR Magic and told them about the strange anamorphic ratio, and this is the reply I got: This is the reply I got: The anamorphic ration is 1.33:1 at infinity setting. As this is an Anamorphic lens, shooting closer than infinity will have anamorphic mumps characteristics. Basically, when using all anamorphic lenses at infinity, the compression ratio is most accurate. As you focus closer than infinity, there will be anamorphic mumps characteristics, leading to a smaller compression ration. Again, no such information is mentioned in B&H or in SLR Magic website!!! So, according to SLR Magic reply, this anamorphic adapter has variable anamorphic ratio!!! How to deal with this? A friend told me that this could mean that I will need to apply a different correction ratio for each shot and I could not focus between different distances within the same shot!!! If this that is the case, then this anamorphic adapter is almost useless and does not worth its money!

Im pretty interested on this adapter, I happen to have DZOFilm Pictor 20 to 55mm T2.8 zoom lens, my question comes to the filter size, this lens has an 86mm filter thread, but the element itself its quite small compared to the lens front so I was wondering if there would be any problem if I used a step down ring from 86mm to 82mm?
Asked by: Gabriel
There should be no issues with using a step down ring.

One question, SLR magic Anamorphic 65, which was reviewed by you. Does it produce oval bokeh shape?
Asked by: Warathanut
Yes it does, but as the stretch is only 1.33 the oval is not a thin as what you might expect from the traditional 2.00x anamorphic stretch factor.

Can I use this adapter on a Canon CN-E 50mm T1.3 L F Cine Lens?
Asked by: Bo
That will not be possible. The CN-E 50mm has too larger of a lens diameter to work along with not having a filter thread for the connection.

This adapter fits up to 65mm Front Diameter Lens with 82mm Front Threads. The SLR Magic APO HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 Lens has a 95mm Front Diameter. Therefore, it cannot fit.
