BoxCast Boxcaster Pro overview

  • 1Description

The BoxCast BoxCaster Pro Standard Streaming Bundle includes the BoxCaster Pro streaming encoder and a 1 year subscription to BoxCast's Standard streaming plan. Having the BoxCaster Pro and a streaming plan lets you take advantage of the power of the BoxCaster Pro right out of the box. See below for more details on the BoxCaster Pro and the Standard streaming plan.

  • BoxCaster Pro Streaming Encoder

Stream high-quality video to nearly any destination with the BoxCaster Pro Streaming Encoder. HDMI and SDI inputs are available, with each input supporting resolutions of UHD 4K up to 60 fps. Loop outputs for both inputs can be used to send signals downstream. Streaming can be done at resolutions up to 1080p, and streams can be encoded using the H.265 codec, which is twice as efficient as the older H.264 codec, for streaming to BoxCast. Audio can be selected from embedded HDMI or SDI inputs or from the integrated XLR/TRS combo jacks which support either microphone or line-level signals. At the front a 4.3" touchscreen LCD acts as a confidence monitor for your streaming content. Even if you can't see the LCD, the LED ring around the device will communicate streaming status.

Streaming is done over a network connection, either via hardwired Ethernet or Wi-Fi. While the BoxCaster Pro itself can only stream to the BoxCast Platform, from there you can send the stream to any number of compatible CDNs through BoxCast, saving on-site bandwidth. When you're not using the BoxCaster Pro, pack it up in the included ruggedized hard case for protection during storage and transport. A 12V power supply is also included.

UHD 4K input up to 60 fps
H.265 HEVC compression for high-quality video with half of the required bandwidth compared to H.264 AVC
Stream using BoxCast's platform with native players for web, mobile, AppleTV, and Roku
Stream to popular CDNs such as YouTube, Facebook Live, and Periscope, or any RTMP destination via BoxCast
BoxCast Flow features adaptive recovery, content-aware forward error correction, encryption, ink quality adjustment, and TCP/UDP diversity
12G-SDI and HDMI inputs both support all resolutions that can be handled by the BoxCaster Pro
Both HDMI and SDI inputs have loop outputs available for sending the video downstream to a monitor or recorder
LED lights for easily checking audio, video, and network connections at-a-glance
Professional XLR/TRS combo jacks can accept balanced microphone or line-level sources
Robust aluminum construction with a durable black-anodized finish
    Headphone audio monitoring
    1/4"-20 thread for mounting
A BoxCast Streaming Plan (Live, Standard, Advanced, or Advanced Plus), sold separately, is required for using your BoxCaster

Either the BoxCaster Encoder or RTMP Encoder Activation, both sold separately, is required to be paired with BoxCast Standard to be able to use the service plan. BoxCast Standard is seamlessly compatible with the BoxCaster Encoder.

The BoxCast platform provides a fully end-to-end workflow, from acquisition to compression, cloud transcoding, archiving, video on demand, pay-per-view settings, and scalable delivery.

The player also features customizable thumbnail images, variable playback speeds, a playlist view, and the ability to add a countdown timer to your live stream.
    Stream to Various Destinations
Stream your event to various RTMP destinations, including Facebook Live, YouTube, Periscope, and Twitch.
